A healthy, easy pasta isn't unheard of but can you whip up a tasty Carbonara in the time it takes to cook packet pasta? Sure you can!
When you're staring down the barrel of the mid-week madness and you've got a hangry household, you're going to want to whip something up fast! There's nothing easier than pasta but if we're honest, and we're doing our best to stay away from pre-packaged foods, concentrating on whole ingredients, the jar of sauce isn't at the top of our list.

Tools and time
- Prep time, 5 minutes. Cook time 12 minutes
- Pasta pot
- Frying pan
- Bowl
- Whisk or fork
Ingredients
- 1 tbs olive oil
- 500g fettucine pasta
- 300g bacon
- 6 eggs
- 3 tbs parmesan cheese
- Parsley (optional)
- Water
Method
- Boil water and add pasta
- While pasta is cooking, heat oil and fry off bacon
- Whisk eggs in a bowl and add parmesan
- Once pasta has cooked, drain and return to pot - no heat
- Add cooked bacon to pasta and pour in egg and cheese mixture, stirring vigorously to ensure eggs don't scramble
- Garnish and serve while hot and glossy
