The early years are a time for a child to take pleasure in the here and now, and develop the skills that they will use throughout their education. During these early years, children experience a sense of being by taking time to explore the present moment. Through the many experiences and changes that occur in the early years, children grow and develop, creating their own identity and becoming a person who actively participates in our society.

At Imagine Childcare and Preschool Nowra, Educators believe in nurturing children’s learning and development by focusing on their social, emotional, and cognitive abilities, whilst also supporting their unique interests and personal styles of learning. The centre’s practice is based on a number of theorists and their beliefs, which helps to guide their pedagogical strategies.

The children are cared for in the following groups:

• Nursery

• Junior Kindy
• Pre Kindy
• Pre School

The bilingual Educators work closely with the families within the large multicultural community. There are 30 Educators from a range of different backgrounds and cultures. 

Educators use play as an essential strategy for learning, recognising and appreciating that learning is a lifelong and ongoing process.  They work alongside the children and their interests to develop their individulised programs. 

Educators encourage and support children in their exploration of the environment, allowing children the freedom to explore and learn at their own pace in a safe and protected setting. The Educators respect children as capable learners and welcome their contributions to all learning experiences. 

The Centre Director leads a team of dedicated Educators who care and support children’s education and development in a warm and caring atmosphere. The Educators strive to build trusting lasting relationships with the families and their children. Parents are offered a complementary barista coffee at drop off time, which is a chance for them to chat to Educators about the children’s plans for the day.
