Welcome to Explore & Develop Waitara

Family-owned and operated early learning service providing high-quality education and care for children aged between 6 weeks to 6 years. Explore & Develop Waitara is conveniently located within walking distance of Waitara Public School, Waitara Train Station, Hornsby Hospital, and Westfield Hornsby.

At Explore & Develop Waitara, we create a nurturing, home-like environment where children are encouraged to imagine, explore, and learn through meaningful experiences.

Our educational program is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), fostering a love for play-based learning while supporting early literacy, numeracy, communication, social-emotional growth, and physical development. We also embrace sustainable practices, ensuring that children learn in a way that respects and values natural resources.

We believe in strong partnerships with families, working together to build on each child’s unique interests and developmental needs. We respect and celebrate the expertise, culture, values, and beliefs of every family, ensuring that each child’s learning and well-being remain at the heart of everything we do.

We warmly invite you and your family to join us at Explore & Develop Waitara—where curiosity is nurtured, and lifelong learning begins. Please contact us on 9487 4000 to book a service tour.

Programs

Explore & Develop offer daily programs within their calm, relaxed and unrushed environment, including:

  • School readiness: to help support and transition children at this significant milestone, the service offers a play-based curriculum that sets children up for lifelong learning.
  • Music and movement: children explore cultural music as part of their project work, and take part in movement and dance lessons.
  • Fundamental movement: children participate in educator led physical active experiences, and have free time to use a range of outdoor equipment to help build and hone motor skills.
  • Wellbeing: experiences including yoga and mindfulness to support children’s wellbeing. They can also boost emotional and physical wellbeing as they help to reduce stress, anxiety and depression in children.
  • Healthy eating: educators introduce children to sustainability and healthy eating. Educators nurture children’s relationships with fresh healthy produce through a range of cooking experiences, including growing and cooking their own produce. Children have the opportunity to care for the vegetable gardens and the worm farm.
