Early Steps Child Care Centre overview
Welcome to Early Steps Child Care Centre, a privately owned 95 place centre in the heart of Para Vista.
Early Steps CCC is owned and managed by Early Steps Group Pty. Ltd. The one and only child care centre of the company.
We opened our doors for the community on March 30, 2009 and are very proud of what we have achieved. As the saying goes, “It takes a village to raise a child”, we would like the families and the whole community to be partners in the education of the children in our care. As a child care service provider with an inclusive policy, we welcome all children, their families and friends.
Our community is vibrant and diverse, our curriculum is open and play-based, our program is inclusive, and our learning is enriched by the diversity of the families in the community. From the minute I called to enquire at Early Steps Child Care Michelle the Director was friendly, open and inviting. When I came into the centre to tour I immediately felt welcome and liked the vibe of the childcare - it was clean, organised and the children seemed engaged and happy.
In the time my children have attended Early Steps I have been extremely happy with the high level of care and commitment that goes into each day from every educator I have encountered. It is highly evident that the staff foster positive relationships with all the children in their care and provide exciting and engaging learning experiences to cater for all needs. My children love coming to childcare each day and it is so comforting to know I am leaving them in such a nurturing environment. To me this is invaluable! Thank you Early Steps Child Care.

We have been part of Early Steps for 7 years, both daughters enjoyed the time at this child care. The friendly staff and the quality of care makes you feel like your child will be in safe hands and give you a great piece of mind. They are amazing and they will accommodate your needs. I highly recommend Early Steps to your family.

We cannot say enough positive things about Early Steps. The quality of care, dedication of staff and wonderful environment are all outstanding. Our first daughter commenced in 2015 and we have been a part of the Early Steps family since. Leaving the Centre when our youngest starts school next year will be like leaving part of our family - the community focus and level of care provided to our girls has been outstanding. Thank you to all the staff at Early Steps.

The educators at Early Steps are absolutely outstanding at building relations with children and their families. My child has grown in all areas because of the high-quality education which is a huge credit to their pedagogy approaches and practices. Cannot recommend Early Steps enough!

About the curriculum
About the curriculum
Early Steps Child Care Centre offers a play-based curriculum, with activities designed to build relationships with the child. All activities focus on trying to meet the diverse individual needs by assisting children to develop their physical self, thinking and communicating self, social development, arts and creativity, design and technology, diversity and understanding of the world around them.
The children are cared for in the following rooms:
Dolphin room: 8 weeks to 14 months.
12 children are cared for by educators who focus on building relationships with them and their families. The children take part in tummy time, exploring the environment, rolling and crawling. The educators create a nurturing, stimulating environment where little ones have the opportunity to learn and grow through play. Early communication skills are taught through basic sign language throughout the day.
Ladybug room: 14 months to 2 years.
12 children are cared for in this room with activities such as painting, riding on train, and trying out musical instruments. The educators help children develop their gross motor skills by encouraging walking and climbing. Sensory play is a big part of the day, with messy play, tasting new things and listening to different sounds. The children are free to explore their environment with educators present to help them feel safe, as well as giving the children the sense of being, belonging and becoming.
Butterfly room: 21 months to 2.5 years.
15 children are cared for in this room, where they take part in activities such as books, animal play, painting, sand play and climbing. The educators work with the children to help develop self-help skills such as serving food, toileting and putting on their own socks and shoes. They encourage positive peer interactions by guiding the children through play experiences. The children are encouraged to develop fine and gross motor skills to enable them to achieve a range of movements to help their coordination.
Duckling room: 2.5 years to 3.5 years.
15 children are cared for in this room, where they take part in activities such as art and craft, block play and dancing. The educators are focused on building children’s language skills through books and singing as well as positive verbal interactions with peers and educators. Self-help skills and independence is encouraged by supporting children and allowing them to make their own choices and giving the children the time to do tasks themselves.
Treefrog room: 3 years to 4 years.
20 children are cared for in this room, where they take part in activities such as imaginative play, learning colours or days of the week, learning about animal care, sand play, early literacy, numeracy and block building. The children are supported in building friendships through play, learning about the life cycles of frogs, and even learning Arabic.
Tiger room: 4 years to school age
25 children are cared for in this room, where they take part in investigations of basic literacy concepts, playdough, art and craft, mobilo constructions and cooking experiences. The children are encouraged to embrace their sense of adventure and creativity. They learn about numeracy, literacy and science through play.

Michelle, Centre Director, Early Steps Child Care Centre
I have been an educator at Early Steps for 3 years, before I did my school work experience at early steps in 2014. I enjoyed it so much I decided when I left school I wanted to be an educator. The staff at Early Steps are very friendly, welcoming and passionate about the industry. Each day at Early Steps is a fun, exciting, busy day.
