Goodstart Early Learning Nambour-Doolan Street

Play is the order of the day of Goodstart Early Learning and the programs at the centre are grounded in a play-based approach. The educators embed teaching and learning into play experiences, helping the children to make sense of the world around them. This is how the children learn about how things work and develop important foundational relationships and skills. 

The primarily child-directed, play-based curriculum ensures that the children are engaged in their learning. They are encouraged to take the lead, developing their negotiation, risk taking, problem solving and social skills. The educators observe the children and help to challenge them by extending their learning and interests.

The educators recognise that every child is unique and that they bring their own needs, interests and strengths with them each day. The program is designed to be flexible to cater to these differing needs, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive at Goodstart.

Christina Martin

Hi there! I’m Christina, and I have been the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Nambour - Doolan Street since April 2013.

I started working in the early learning and childcare industry in 2004. I have an Advanced Diploma in Children’s Services and have lived locally on the Sunshine Coast my whole life.

I love working with young children and get a great sense of accomplishment from watching the children grow and learn. These days as Centre Director, I still love to join in with some of the activities in the rooms – I’ll drop by to sing a song, read a story or have a chat with the children most days.

I’m really proud of the happy, nurturing environment we have at our centre, and it is the educators that make this centre special. In particular, Jessica, our early childhood teacher is a special addition to our centre. She creates a vibrant and exciting environment for the children to learn in while respecting every child’s need to develop at their own pace.
