Welcome to Deadly Kindy Burragah

Welcome to Deadly Kindy Burragah!

Offering kindy programs for 3 and 4 year olds, Deadly Kindy Burragah is a unique centre with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture at the fore. The early intervention model combines access to health and social services – such as speech or occupational therapy – with early education.

The centre is designed to instil a strong sense of Indigenous identity in the jarjums. They learn about culture, community and country in an inclusive, safe and flexible play-based learning environment.

The outdoor play area provides the jarjums with a connection to country through the bush tukka gardens and sustainability education. The outside area is spacious, thoughtfully-designed and well-resourced to cater to the learning activities and experiences that take place each day. With ample outdoor play time, the educators also plan play, music, drama, literature and visual arts activities.

For families with no access to transport, they can also access the centre’s free bus service.

The centre offers a large car park on-site, public transport just outside the centre and a free bus service for families with no access to transport. Why not book a tour of this convenient and culturally proud centre today?

About the curriculum

The curriculum at Deadly Kindy is designed to set the jarjums up for success at school and beyond with a lifelong love of learning. With Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culture at the forefront, the experienced educators provide a safe and healthy learning environment where the culture and learning thrive together.

The play-based curriculum uses the eight Aboriginal Ways of Learning as the framework for the daily activities and experiences. By using Aboriginal learning techniques, the educators can bring a uniquely Aboriginal perspective to their teaching. The jarjums’ natural curiosity is fostered and the educators involve them in outcome-focused thinking where they can take an active role in their learning.
