Blossoms Childcare & Early Learning Centre - West Ryde Centre overview
Established in 2014, Blossoms Childcare West Ryde is a boutique centre offering long day care and early learning for children up to 5 years old, including an enriching preschool program. The passionate teachers and educators provide holistic, play based learning that fosters creativity, independence, confidence, and an eagerness to learn.
The centre is located in a former house, which adds to the warm, welcoming and homely atmosphere. Interiors have been specifically designed with furnishings, decor and resources to pique children’s natural curiosity. Programs
Programs
The centre believes that children learn through play and has developed a range of holistic programs in line with guidelines set by ACECQA, National Quality Framework and The Early Years Learning Framework. The play based programs are tailored to children’s age, developmental levels and interests, and designed to foster holistic cognitive, social, physical, motor and emotional development.
Preschool
For children 3 and over, the preschool program focuses on building essential school readiness skills. Children take part in stimulating activities including literacy, science and numeracy, whilst educators also nurture resilience, emotional stability and social skills, for a smooth transition to kindergarten.
Emergent Curriculum
The emergent curriculum program is responsive to children’s interests, providing meaningful, relevant and engaging activities for every child. Educators working within the emergent curriculum build on children’s prior learning and current interests, and provoke new ideas and learning opportunities that challenge and extend children’s understanding about the world.

Today there was a power cut in West Ryde. In the early morning, we received an email from the center's director saying they couldn't cook as usual and there were limited options for lunch. So when my partner brought our son there, I asked him to check with the center's director if I could bring our own food. The answer was yes if there were no allergens like eggs or nuts in the food. As someone who cares about food and nutrition, I decided to bring the leftover salmon dish to the center so that my son could have a nutrition-balanced meal. When I brought the food there, the center's director asked me if there were allergens in the food and I answered "There's salmon, leek, onion, and rice. No eggs or nuts." When I came to pick up my son and asked the teachers about the food I brought, the teacher told me that the center's director said there was egg in the food and therefore they didn't give it to my son. I told the teacher that what looks like egg was in fact sour cream. Then I went to the kitchen to look for the food and couldn't find it anywhere. I'm very offended by how the center's director distrusted me and misled the teacher. I'm about to send my second kid to Blossoms. I'm very disappointed as they don't take us seriously at all. My daughter loves all the educators dearly. She is always excited to go daycare and does not show any anxiety whenever we do drop offs. Whenever I pick her up, she just has full of stories to tell. Our family will always be grateful to Blossoms for taking care of our daughter with so much love. She will be going to big school next year and Im sure she will miss everyone at Blossoms.
