What the parents say

What the parents say
My son has been attending almost since the opening of the centre. He loves going to "friends" and has an amazing time. He has cried for his Educators when he has been unwell and has such a great bond with both his teachers and his friends. They go above and beyond at the centre to take an interest in families and this place is really a home away from home. Communication between the centre and parents with updates is second to none and I know we will miss everything about the centre when it's time to go to Prep.
Parent
The centre is lovely and modern, the food is fresh and nutritious, parents are looked after with a morning coffee and always you are greeted in a friendly manner. The Educators are caring and attentive and are always coming up with fun and educational things for the children to do. The daily reports are thorough and informative.
Parent
The Educators are kind, passionate and are amazing at their jobs. It is a beautiful centre.
Parent
We absolutely adore the staff at Grow. So professional but also warm and welcoming. Highly recommend for any ages.

About the curriculum

About the curriculum
Nursery
There will be a maximum of 8 children per day in the nursery, with an Educator to child ratio of 1:4. The children are nurtured to grow and develop at their own pace, following their own individual routines – building secure attachments with their Educators.
Toddlers
There will be a maximum of 12 children a day in the toddler room, with an Educator to child ratio of 1:4. Educators seek to build deeper foundations as they establish and maintain respectful, trusting relationships with the children.
There will be a maximum of 15 children a day in this room, with an Educator to child ratio of 1:5. This is where the children continue to increase their emerging autonomy, inter-dependence, resilience, and sense of agency as their Educators enhance their learning and development.
A maximum of 22 children a day will be in this room, with an Educator to child ratio of 1:11. The nurturing environment builds upon the children’s strengths while preparing them to transition to Kindergarten through a balance of free play time and an Educator coordinated program.
A maximum of 22 children a day will be in this room, with an Educator to child ratio of 1:11. The centre’s Bachelor qualified teacher runs a Queensland approved Kindergarten program, where children make connections between their early childhood foundations they have formed at Grow, connecting their own identity and knowledge with their culture and community foundations to maximise opportunities for each child’s transition to school.
Health & Nutrition

Health & Nutrition
At Grow Early Education Darling Heights, the children enjoy a wide variety of seasonal and local produce, with a menu that provides more than half of their daily nutrition requirements. The chef-designed multicultural meals also include many vegetables and herbs from the centre’s own vegetable gardens. The centre works in consultation with families to accommodate any child’s allergies, intolerances, their cultural background or other family preferences.
Mealtimes provide an important opportunity for children to develop good eating habits and learn about nutrition and food variety. They are also an important time for social interaction with other children and adults.
The Educators adopt meal time strategies to teach children about good nutrition. These include things like involving children in creating the menu, encouraging younger children and toddlers to talk about healthy food choices, providing children with opportunities to eat food and engage in the mealtime routines of different cultures, talking with children about nutritious food during mealtimes.
The parents don’t miss out either, with the centre’s own barista providing fresh coffee every morning upon drop-off to enjoy with a baked treat prepared by the centre chef.
