Welcome to OAK on Jellicoe Street.
Welcome to Oak on Jellicoe, where children from ages 6 weeks to five years are cared for in a beautiful, nurturing environment. Our service has been lovingly converted from a family home, which provides a wonderful, rich history for the children and families to explore in our community.
Our programs create a sense of belonging and independence. We boast a beautiful, large backyard that is filled with love where children of all age groups have the opportunity to explore and look after vegetable and herb gardens and we pride ourselves in our commitment to sustainable practices. Mud kitchens, sandpits, and a fort surrounded by luscious gardens provides each child's imagination the opportunity to grow and inspire themselves and each other. Our indoor spaces are carefully placed together to create a sense warmth and nurturement.
Qualified educators provide play-based learning programs, catered for all ages, interests, and abilities. The children enjoy weekly incursions, such as Ginger sports, music and movement, mindfulness and wellbeing from yoga classes, Aslan classes, and Master Chef cooking lessons from our very own in house cook!
Our School Readiness Program operates 5 days a week for 40 weeks on the year. Book a tour today to check out our amazing service.

Extremely caring, thoughtful and friendly staff. Gorgeous, clean and tidy centre. Cannot recommend enough! We have been a family at OAK for 2+ years now and we have built relationships with the beautiful staff there that we will treasure for a long time. They take so much pride in what they do.

The best childcare centre we have ever been a part of. The staff are always happy and greet you and your children with a smile! The building, rooms and surroundings are beautiful.... and my little boy just loves it!

The staff are absolutely amazing and made it the most rewarding experience for my children that went here. Having a child with a food allergy I thought was going to be hard, but the staff made it effortless. Both of my boys miss and still talk about their experiences here with the biggest smiles on their faces.

We have been blown away by the quality of care at this centre. The educators in all rooms work hard in planning learning through play. Our son is so happy to arrive each day and looks like he’s having a great time when we pick him up. The centre is immaculate. The meals look and sound delicious too. They retain educators as well. This centre makes me realise how poor other centres really are but I didn’t know any different at the time.

About the curriculum
About the curriculum
The educators work closely with families to provide a safe, quality, family-centred learning environment where every child is respected and nurtured. The team continually develops their skills and explores new ways to enrich each child’s early learning experience.
Indoor and outdoor play based experiences are an integral part of the program. Educators plan a diverse range of experiences to create opportunities for each child in both structured and spontaneous play.
The centre’s programs are inspired by the wisdom and teachings of early childhood theorists and the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), and aim to develop children’s emotional, social and cognitive intelligence.
The Kindergarten curriculum continues to emphasise play based learning, however offers additional intentional learning times where the focus is on literacy and numeracy, socialisation, self-regulation and independence.
Health & nutrition
Health & nutrition
Oak on Jellicoe Early Education understands that promoting children’s nutrition and health is an important aspect of providing a quality child care and early education service. It is crucial that children are offered healthy, nutritious meals throughout the day and enjoy social, positive mealtime experiences and discussions as part of their overall growth, development and knowledge.
The centre’s menu is prepared by a professionally qualified centre cook in consultation with families, educators, the children and recognised authorities such as Nutrition Australia. The centre can accommodate individual dietary requirements due to family preferences, cultural background, allergies or food intolerances, by working closely and in consultation with families to make sure individual children’s needs are met.
A positive attitude towards healthy eating is embedded into the curriculum and daily routines, for instance with their interactive cooking classes; menu development; discussion of food choices; explaining the role of food and culture; educators modeling healthy eating; and making meal times a pleasant, social occasion.
Meet the team
Meet the team
At Oak on Jellicoe Early Education, the educators believe that each child is on their own unique journey that shapes the person they are and who they will become. Just like chapters in a book, they understand that each child steps through their ‘story’ at their own pace and in their own time.
The team believes that learning is a lifelong journey and that early childhood education and care provides the foundation for learning for life. Children make sense of the world around them through the use of processes such as exploration, collaboration and problem solving across all aspects of the curriculum. They develop dispositions such as curiosity, persistence and creativity and use play to investigate, imagine and explore ideas, follow and extend their own interests.
The educators are key to supporting children on their journey and believe that relationships with families and community are essential for supporting children to be global citizens and helping them to reach their potential.
The centre is committed to providing children with childhoods that are full of wonderful memories and strong relationships and attachments that allow children to feel safe and confident to explore their environment to the full.
What makes this such an amazing service is the environment that we work in is beautiful, well maintained and looked after with pride. The team and families respond well to this and there is a feeling of everyone really wanting to be at work every day. My goals over the next 12 months are to get to know my team and have a deep understanding of the local community that I work with. This will help me make decisions for our service that suit the context and will help us work towards being an exceeding service.
