Chapter 1 Early Learning
Chapter 1 Early Learning Centre overview
Welcome to Chapter 1 Early Learning – Montmorency! As a proud, family-owned and operated childcare provider, we are excited to bring our passion for early childhood education to this vibrant community. Our new, purpose-built centre is designed to nurture and inspire children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. With space for 72 children, we offer a thoughtfully designed environment featuring multiple engaging outdoor areas and five innovative learning rooms where your child can grow, explore, and thrive. At Chapter 1, we’re committed to providing a warm, welcoming, and enriching experience for every child in our care.
The team at Chapter 1 Early Learning believe that the early years of a child’s life are their most influential. It is within these years that a child develops the foundation skills and abilities that will carry them through life. Our Educators feel that by being attuned to children’s thoughts and feelings, this supports the development of a strong sense of well being. Our aim is to work closely with families to form a partnership, where Educators can develop learning programs responsive to children’s ideas, interests, strengths and abilities, and recognise that children learn through play.
At Chapter 1 Early Learning we acknowledge the importance of play in early childhood development. Through play, infants and young children explore and learn to understand the world around them as they communicate, discover, imagine and create. When children play they are showing what they have learned and what they are trying to understand. When children play with other children they create social groups, test out ideas, challenge each other’s thinking and build new understandings.

About the Curriculum
About the Curriculum
Curriculum
Literacy and language development play a crucial role in shaping a child's understanding of the world. Through interactive activities and engaging stories, young minds begin to explore the wonders of language, unlocking their potential to communicate, understand, and express themselves. This foundation is essential for a child's overall growth and their ability to connect with others.
STEM education, which includes Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics, sparks curiosity and promotes exploration. Through hands-on activities and experiments, children develop problem-solving skills and the ability to question and investigate, laying the groundwork for future discoveries. This approach encourages innovation and nurtures a love for learning that can extend into their academic and personal lives.
School readiness extends beyond the basics of literacy and numeracy. It involves nurturing a child's social, emotional, and cognitive skills, preparing them for a successful learning journey. Through structured play, interactive experiences, and supportive environments, children build the confidence and abilities they need to thrive in school and beyond.
Play-based learning, a cornerstone of early education, allows children to explore, imagine, and develop essential skills like communication, problem-solving, and collaboration. It fosters a nurturing environment where every moment becomes an opportunity for growth, creativity, and joy. Similarly, creative arts, such as painting, music, and drama, spark imagination and self-expression, helping children develop fine motor skills while nurturing a love for learning and creative thinking.
Music also plays a transformative role in early childhood development. It offers children opportunities to explore rhythm, coordination, and emotional expression, all while developing a deeper understanding of themselves and the world. In a similar vein, mindfulness practices help children develop emotional resilience, focus, and self-awareness, promoting overall well-being.
Sustainability education encourages children to care for the environment and develop responsible habits. Through eco-friendly practices and nature exploration, children learn the importance of conservation and living in harmony with the Earth. Outdoor play and excursions further support this growth by allowing children to engage with nature, fostering resilience, curiosity, and a lifelong love for the outdoors. Through these enriching experiences, children broaden their perspectives, develop empathy, and gain lasting memories that will shape their journey of learning and discovery.
What the parents say
What the parents say
"The facilities are always a well presented and safe environment serviced and maintained by courteous, friendly, knowledgeable, caring team members, and most importantly the children are always happy. Having multiple male team members in a female dominated industry is also a huge positive."
Ryan
"Chapter 1 is an excellent early learning centre. The staff members are fantastic; they are friendly, kind, caring, helpful and ever so lovely to deal with. The communication and engagement with families is excellent. The facility is nice, bright and clean. My son has been attending this centre since he was 15 months and enjoys attending. The experience has been really positive and I’m so glad he goes to this centre. I would highly recommend this centre."
Annabel
"We are so grateful for the individualised care and education the Chapter one team gives to our son. As parents of a neurodiverse child, true inclusiveness is so important to us and we couldn’t be happier with our experience. Chapter one sets the benchmark in early education for neurodiversity."

"Finding the right daycare for my daughter was incredibly important to me, and I couldn't be happier with our choice of Chapter 1. From the very beginning, we were welcomed into a warm and nurturing environment that truly feels like a second family.
The small, family-like atmosphere ensures that everyone knows my daughter by name. This personal touch has made a world of difference in her sense of belonging and comfort. The staff are genuinely caring and attentive, always going above and beyond to keep me updated on her progress and daily activities.
One of the standout features of Chapter 1 is their commitment to keeping us, as parents, in the loop. Regular updates and open communication have given me great peace of mind, knowing that my daughter is in good hands.
The activities are thoughtfully planned and include both excursions and incursions that are not only fun but also highly educational. News day and the visits from the Aged care centre were favourites of my daughter. These experiences have significantly contributed to her social awareness and confidence.
Additionally, Chapter 1 excels in celebrating seasonal and special occasions, such as Christmas and Mother's Day. They invite families to join in for parties and activities, creating a happy and inclusive parent community. These events have allowed us to actively participate in our daughter's daycare experience and have created cherished memories for our family.
In summary, Chapter 1 has been a fantastic choice for our family. The supportive environment, excellent communication, leadership, enriching activities, and special events have all played a crucial role in my daughter's development. I wholeheartedly recommend Chapter 1 to any parent looking for a caring and educational daycare setting for their child."
