About the curriculum

About the curriculum
6 weeks - 12 months
Their passionate and experienced Educators work closely with families to ensure each baby’s routine is personalised to meet their individual needs. The children take part in activities within a stimulating learning environment. They enjoy group time during their music and movement program, or visits from special guests. Throughout the day, the babies enjoy taking part in songs and storytelling, sensory activities, and messy play in the garden. Under the guidance of their Educators, the babies enjoy their meals and snacks with their friends. During Nursery nap time, they are taken into the sleeping area where gentle music and a twinkling night sky encourages them to rest.
2 years - 3 years
The Educators recognise that routines for toddlers are an important opportunity for learning. Performing daily, predictable tasks while having fun is a chance for toddlers to build their self-confidence, communication and social skills. The toddlers enjoy a daily rhythmic routine which assists them to transition between activities throughout the day. They take part in activities such as music, yoga, cooking, painting, drawing, singing and dancing, STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) based activities and the centre’s sustainability program. The toddlers also enjoy mealtimes with their friends and Educators.
4 years - 6 years
The Educators ensure the children's environment is fun and inviting, encouraging quality play-based experiences to help them develop memory skills, language and self-regulation, supporting the transition to school and academic learning later in life. The children enjoy yoga, visits from special guests, and regular excursions to local parklands. Mealtimes are an opportunity for the children to enjoy social interactions with their friends and Educators, as well as learn about body awareness and nutrition. Practicing independence, the children help to set up, serve, and clear away their dining area. Throughout the day, the Preschool children engage in activities that include literacy and numeracy games, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math) activities to encourage children to think creatively and critically. Many of the children particularly enjoy the outdoor adventures around the bike track or expanding their green thumb knowledge, through cultivating the edible flower and vegetable gardens that provide countless hours of eco-education and fun.

Mawson lakes green leaves is amazing my little girl started there 5ish months ago and started at 3 and a half months and as a first time mum I was scared but I was blown away with how she took to them, always happy when I turn up, they are helping me with ideas on how to introduce new foods etc, they always have her best interest in mind and let me hang out for 20 min or so before I leave to ensure a positive and informative handover. I am able to know she is in the best hands and gets well looked after when I am unable to, I am beyond happy with them, and can’t fault them the nursery team and toddlers team are amazing as well as management and kitchen staff always meet with a greeting. I love the incursions and the daily updates, the nursery team are amazing and my little girl loves going here. Would 100% recommend if you are looking at sending your children. Kerrie and her team at Mawson are exceptional and my anxiety is eased everytime I drop my baby girl off. Thank you team at Mawson lakes you guys are amazing best daycare out :) Read more

This centre has been such a special part of our family’s journey. Both of our boys have absolutely thrived here socially, emotionally, and developmentally. Our eldest has just started school and while that transition was a big one (even for me as a parent!) continuing to drop off and pick up our youngest still brings so much warmth and comfort to my day. The team at Green Leaves is truly exceptional. Kerrie (Director) and Karen (2IC) are not only brilliant leaders but also genuinely supportive and caring people who have gone above and beyond for both our children and for us as parents. The educators are incredible - so attentive, nurturing and engaged. You can tell they love what they do and it reflects in the happiness and growth of the children. And we can’t forget Chef Amber! What an absolute gem! The meals are amazing and always made with such love and care. Honestly, the idea of our youngest eventually moving on to school is bittersweet. It’s hard to imagine saying goodbye to a place that has given us so much joy, support and connection. Green Leaves Mawson Lakes is more than just a childcare centre… it’s been like a second home. We’re so grateful to be part of this wonderful community🙏🏽 Read more

Extremely dissatisfied with this Mawson Lakes Centre. The centre fosters a toxic culture rooted in workplace politics, where preferential treatment is blatantly given to a select group of compliant staff aligned with management, particularly the centre Education Leader Professionalism is severely lacking, with a disproportionate number of under qualified , inexperienced educators entrusted with the care of children. The parent portal often presents a misleading narrative, curated to give an illusion of engagement. In reality, children are routinely coerced into superficial activities solely to manufacture fake evidence of learning, rather than to support authentic developmental growth. A highly disingenuous and disheartening environment. *** would not recommend*** Read more
