What the parents say
What the parents say
I highly recommend Young Minds Academy! While I’m at work, my mind is always at ease because I know my son Angelo, is in a safe place, learning and having fun with Miss Joy and Miss Viv. I just wanted to let you know how much I value your professionalism and tell you that I’m seeing great improvement in my child’s ability to express himself.
The Director, Irene, is also a really nice lady. Thank you for being so helpful, and Thank you for always doing all you can to bring out the best in my son and for constantly motivating and encouraging him to strive!
Kristine, parent
Programs
Programs
At Young Minds Academy, the educators provide an individualised program that is based on each child’s own interests and needs. The children work within small groups with their key educator, which builds a strong foundation of trust between educator and child. The educators work alongside the families to develop goals for each child; these are updated every six months to ensure that each child is progressing well with their learning. Some of the programs on offer include:
Focus on Fitness
The educators understand that active kids are happy kids, and see exercise as a great way to encourage them to be active every day. The fitness program includes yoga, dance and movement; and is delivered by fitness coaches.
School Readiness Program
The educators know that children who attend an Early Education Centre in the years before kindergarten are both better prepared for school and more confident, engaged learners. Their School Readiness Program centres around traditional learning (including literacy and numeracy) as well as teaching children to become independent, able to express emotions and have the self-help skills required to confidently move into the school environment.
Healthy bodies
The educators are committed to encouraging a healthy mindset in the children, and encourage them to take part in regular cooking demonstrations and tastings, lots of nature play in the large outdoor space, and plenty of running around on the grass with their friends.
About the curriculum
About the curriculum
The educators at Young Minds Academy follow the EYLF and believe that Early Education in the formative years is essential to children’s love of learning at school. This proudly diverse centre’s educational philosophy centres on the notion that each child is capable if given the opportunity.
The children are cared for in the following age groupings:
- Young Explorers: 6 weeks to 3 years
- Little Einsteins: 3 years to 6 years
Meet the team
Meet the team
The qualified and experienced educators at Young Minds Academy follow a Key Educator model in which children are allocated to an educator who is their primary carer at the service. They see the importance of rapport between children and their educators, as it is through this sense of belonging that each child is able to feel safe and therefore focus on their learning. This model also assists families in communicating changes at home, their own goals or concerns to the Key Educator who can ensure that there is consistency between what is happening at home and at the service.
When parents enrol at the centre they are given access to the parent portal through the OWNA app, making it easy to keep up with daily communications and developmental progress all day through the app.
I am the Centre Director and Nominated Supervisor; and have over 15 years of experience in the industry. I am a passionate and caring educator. I see each child as an individual and aim to meet their needs. I understand the anxiety felt by families leaving children in care for the first time and I endeavour to aid in this transition.
Ms Joy, Centre Director & Little Einstein’s room (3 – 5’s)
My passion for working with children and positive attitude leave all the children excited to come back to school the next day.
Ms Kaylah, Little Einstein’s room (3 – 5’s)
My calm demeanour and ability to build rapport with the infants engages them and gives them the confidence to make choices and decisions that inspire their curiosity and interests.
Ms Jinan, Young Explorer’s Room (0-3’s)
I love working with infants and toddlers. My ability to speak Vietnamese has proven to be so comforting for young children who are from non-English speaking backgrounds who are joining child care for the first time.
Ms Vy, Young Explorer’s Room (0-3’s)
I am passionate about working with toddlers, and ensure a positive and safe environment for children as they grow and develop. My personal philosophy is entrenched in Montessorian methods while encouraging the independence that toddlers cherish.
Ms Cheneara, Young Explorer’s Room (0-3’s)
I enjoy working with infants and toddlers; and have 17 years of experience as an early childhood educator. I am a compassionate educator; and am attentive to the verbal and non-verbal cues of the children.
Ms Vivi, Young Explorer’s Room (0-3’s)

Centre philosophy
At Young Minds Academy we promote a secure and happy environment for children, in a friendly home-like atmosphere, with experienced, caring staff who strive to build rapport with children.

I remember all the teachers, Miss Joy and Miss Nida (She has sadly retired) etc… . My place here was fantastic, There were heartwarming and happy memories built here. I remember doing a Hawaiian: Lilo & Stitch dance and making many arts n’ crafts. The teachers always made sure we were well fed, we all felt like we belonged, everything was sanitary and we learnt many things. I do not have any photos but I attended here around in 2011-2014 and I utterly miss this place a lot. It makes me smiling seeing how much the preschool has changed and developed over the years. I have only gotten to visit once or twice after I left but the visits weren’t very recent. I would love to relive my life just to experience the time of going to this daycare again. Thank you for raising me. Read more
