Absolutely unacceptable. On 30+ degree days there are ZERO swimming lanes! Why even call this a "swimming" pool? Surely Coburg Leisure center is violating health and safety standards by forcing anyone who wants to swim laps into a single lane like canned sardines. Complete disregard for patrons who want to do lap swimming, i.e the activity that the "swimming" pool was designed for in the first place. Worst swimming pool in the whole country, just avoid this place at all costs and just go to Brunswick baths. There should be a bare minimum of 3 swimming lanes open, Slow, Medium, Fast, putting everyone in a single lane so that there are 10+ people in there, some loafing around others trying to actually swim, is reprehensible.

Absolutely ridiculous. Most times we come to try and swim laps nearly every lane is being used for kids lessons and there is only one “swimming” lane that is filled with old people who only walk. No matter if it’s during the day or the evening, so when are people who work supposed to come and swim laps? Seems like the pools only prioritise schools and children, not swimmers who also pay for a membership to swim laps in the pool. There seems to be only very limited hours where all lanes are open which isn’t really fair or inclusive for people who work that are wanting to use the pool facilities. When confronting one of the receptionists about this, she just came across as rude which honestly makes me just want to cancel my membership as driving all the way to the pools to find out I can’t even swim is absolutely infuriating.

Oh my god the smell. Ive never been to a pool that smelled that strongly of chlorine in my life. We instantly began feeling unwell. But we paid, so we stayed for a bit. The steam room worried me a tad as I was now wondering how many chemicals I was deeply inhaling.
We were both heavily nauseous for the rest of the afternoon and evening. Don't think I'll be back.
Also $8 to swim but an extra $7 just to sit in the steam or sauna room for a maximum of 15mins is highway robbery.
