McLeans Road Kindergarten is a brand new, state of the art kindergarten set in the Norris Bank Parklands of Bundoora. A rebuild by Whittlesea City Council was completed at the end of 2021, for the 2022 kindergarten year. McLeans Road is a a two-room (66 place) kindergarten with three-year-old and four-year-old programs and co-located family services.
Kids First is recognised by the Department of Education and Training as an accredited Early Years Manager. This means they are recognised for their expertise in the delivery of high quality early childhood education and care services.
All of their Early Years kinders use the Kinder Tick as they are an approved provider of a Victorian Government funded kindergarten program. That means your child is taking part in an evidence-informed, play-based learning program that meets government guidelines. Research shows the pre-school years are critical when it comes to supporting learning and development — and that the right support at these ages can help benefit children into their school years and beyond.

I took my son here for orientation and it was the first one where I stayed in the room and thank goodness I did otherwise I would not have been able to write this. While I was sitting there observing I noticed a little girl had wet her pants. No educator had realised this so I let the kindergarten teacher know. They checked the girl and saw her pants were wet (it was lunch time) they got the little girl to sit down in her wet pants and have her lunch and said they would change her after lunch (it should have been done straight away!) After lunch was finished the children went outside to play. This poor little girl had still not been changed so I AGAIN went and told the kindergarten teacher. This little girl was made to eat in wet pants and wasn't changed for 45 minutes! I was so apauled to see this and the fact that a parent who was at orientation had to alert the staff not once but twice is absolutely not ok! I did NOT go back for a second orientation and definitely did NOT enrol my son here! Read more

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
