Hello, I’m Florisa Banayad, the Centre Manager at KiDZSPOT Ornella in Glendenning. I started my career as a registered nurse and made the move to early childhood education many years ago having made the decision to change my focus to working with children. After completing my qualifications, I started an immensely rewarding career as an educator and eventually worked my way up to becoming Director. I have managed services for children across all age groups, from babies to ages 5 and have worked with diverse cohorts of educators and families over the years.

As a childcare professional, my passion lies in the freedom to create and bring to life different teaching techniques. Every child learns in their own way and in their own time so it is very important to create opportunities that capture the different ways children learn and process information.

I believe in creating a safe, loving environment where each child is valued and encouraged to grow. I am a strong advocate of recognising the importance of early childhood in shaping future success, prioritising holistic development, fostering strong relationships and developing a sense of belonging. By promoting play as a crucial learning tool, we give our children the opportunity to experience learning through all aspects of the program; from mealtime to rest time, every opportunity is an opportunity to learn.

As a leader, I am committed to ensuring that my centre focuses on the well-being and growth of every child. At KiDZSPOT Ornella, we offer a more personal approach; we know all our families on a one-on-one basis, and we offer an inclusive and individualised program where each child and team member is respected and embraced. The well-being of everyone in my care, the children and my team alike, is my main priority because growth only takes place when we feel safe, valued and inspired.
