About the curriculum
About the curriculum
Little Scholars offers a range of studios tailored to different age groups, each designed to enhance learning and development in a nurturing environment. From the Nursery for the youngest learners, focusing on care and comfort, to the Toddler, Pre-Kindy, and Kindergarten studios, each space is crafted to support the specific developmental stages of children up to five years old. Activities and curriculum are age-appropriate, encouraging play-based learning, social skills, and foundational education.
This streamlined approach of an emergent curriculum supports educators to adopt child development theory and put into practice.
Our educational program is based on the premise that children are most successful at learning when curriculum experiences account for children’s interests, strengths, and individual needs.
The Collective encompasses all aspects of Little Scholars, including a collaborative approach with our children, families, educators, and community.
Our weekly programs, which can be seen in our studios, are responsive to the evolving interests and needs of the children and allow for flexibility and extended periods of play and research to test theories.
This enquiry-led teaching strengthens children to become competent and capable across their developmental domains.
The Collective allows educators to follow the children’s lead and actively explore new concepts, ideas, or interest.

Health & nutrition
Health & nutrition
Little Scholars believes that health and wellness is the foundation of growth, early childhood development and education.
Developing healthy eating habits is a fundamental skill for young children and we play an important role in helping your child learn about and enjoy a variety of nutritious foods each day. That’s why our Little Scholars campuses employ qualified chefs to prepare tasty, nutritious meals and snacks in commercial kitchens. These meals are safe, developmentally appropriate and properly portioned for your child. It’s a recommendation from health authorities that children in long daycare are provided with at least 50 per cent of their daily nutritional requirements whilst they are in care.
We have an exciting rotating four-week menu that changes seasonally and incorporates a variety of flavours and textures to support our children trying new things, expanding their palates and promotes healthy eating. This menu always on display for families to have a look at, and we’re always open to suggestions from parents!
We provide your child with opportunities to enjoy healthy foods that promote growth and allow them to learn food preferences and good dietary habits that help them live a healthy lifestyle. Little Scholars offers a seasonal, Nutrition Australia-approved weekly menu, which includes vegetarian and halal options if required. We devote significant resources to allergy requirements, all combined with our user-friendly online allergy notification system.
Healthy eating from early childhood also means children will have less chance of developing chronic diseases like heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity and some cancers. But it will also mean they feel great and enjoy life more!
Health and Wellness is essential for our Little Scholars growth and development and encourages the children to live robust, happy, and fulfilled lives.
- Bush & Beach Kinder
Our little scholars explore Mother Nature daily which is literally on their doorstep. They step outside and become outdoor explorers and the rest is history.
- Pram Kinder
No matter how little you are, even our littlest scholars partake in outdoor adventures and become outdoor explorers.
- Drawing Lessons
Young minds are hungry and always ready to learn new things. Our drawing lessons with Mr Tom offer our kindergarten children a world of exploration, creative expression, and expertise all in one. These classes are supported by Tom Gant from You CAN Draw!
- Cooking lessons
Our little scholars express themselves through the art of cooking and are opened to a world of opportunities for creativity and exploration. Watch your little scholar become their own little chef.
- Yoga
Watch out for your competitor yogi friends because yoga is on the weekly agenda for our little scholars! Yoga is more than just a fun activity; it is an outlet for coping with stresses and promotes a happy mind.
- Sport
Think personalised obstacle classes, soccer, swimming and more. Our little scholars are supported with expert teachers who promote fun and educational fitness lessons for the children.
- Dance
Dance provides the joy of dance and music in young children while creating and promoting musical appreciation, rhythm, coordination, fitness, social skills and most of all fun! Children are taught a range of dance techniques including ballet, jazz, lyrical, tap and more, in a relaxed, enjoyable atmosphere.
What the parents say
What the parents say
There has never been a day since her enrolment where she has not been excited to come in and see her friends and educators. This has made drop offs a breeze for us and even more so, very reassuring that she is having a great time.

This Brisbane campus is really unique, as it offers all kinds of cool outdoor experiences, but all indoors! But the children also get to experience some great excursions to various parks and cultural locations around the CBD. The educators are so dedicated about what they do, providing creative learning opportunities and activities, as well as being kind, loving and supportive to all the children in their care. They're truly special human beings at Little Scholars George Street!

My daughter has been going to little scholars on George Street since she was 5.5 months old. She loves her teachers and is excited to go to daycare each day. They are so supportive and informative for myself as a parent and let me know if any issues and work with me to resolve them.
The daily reports are fantastic. The imagination and creativity behind the curriculum is more than I could possibly think of doing if I didn’t work and kept her home with me.
The centre itself has had some amazing upgrades in the time we have been going there and basically is like having the outdoors brought inside which I think is great for the kids.
I believe the centre is very reasonably priced for its central location and the quality of the services they provide is fantastic.
Also I see the food getting made each day when I drop my daughter off and I get serious food envy. The kids eat very well here.

Our two youngest children have been attending Little Scholars George Street since 2017, and right from the start I've always felt like the team here were a part of our "village". The genuine affection and love that the AMAZING educators show our babies, the organised but fun way the centre is run by their wonderful director , the innovative offerings (eg. excursions for all age groups, providing date night childcare, and the inclusive language and music classes), and their constant focus on improvement and helping working parents out however they can are some of the reasons we just love this centre!
The city location also means that I can spend as much time as possible with our children before I drop them off and I'm back with them within 5 minutes of leaving work. We're very happy members of the Little Scholars family :)
