SDN Woolloomooloo, SDN's oldest centre, opened in 1905 but has been in its current location since 1920. It is located in a quiet corner of Woolloomooloo and is licensed for 90 children, with six separate rooms and vibrant outdoor spaces, providing lots of variety for children to learn and grow.
The centre is part of SDN Children's Services, which is a not for profit organisation.
We are a community based centre, so families are often involved in various projects throughout the year. Gardening and environmental sustainability are a central focus of our curriculum. This is particularly important as we are located in the centre of the city. Another important aspect of the curriculum at SDN Woolloomooloo is the emphasis on integrating our early learning centre with the wider community. We believe children should be active participants in their community, and plan many excursions based on the children’s current interests.
We also offer extracurricular programs such as french lessons and yoga.
At SDN, your child is supported by our village.
The SDN village is a caring, inclusive, and supportive community, where your child is the centre of everything we do. We give them the freedom to invent, create, explore, and express their true selves, every day. A place where they can use their voices. And when they do, we listen.
We see the whole child and know that children thrive when we support them to grow caring hearts, healthy bodies, and curious minds.
SDN is committed to being a child safe organisation.
