At Scribbles and Giggles Childcare Centres we understand that education during children’s early years is essential in forming a solid foundation of learning for their future endeavours. We approach this through implementing a variety of play-based activities and experiences in a culturally safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment, guided by the Early Years Learning Foundation (EYLF). Our learning environments are carefully crafted by our educators daily to be appealing to children while creating intentional learning spaces that engage children’s curiosity, imagination and cognitive thinking.
We focus on foundational learning, including literacy, numeracy, communication and language through a play-based learning model. A strong focus is also placed on social and emotional awareness and regulation as we understand that children who feel supported emotionally are able to receive their surroundings and interactions more openly.
In order to develop a successful program children’s current interests, development and family input is taken into consideration in the activities and experiences offered throughout the day. This can include intentional as well as spontaneous experiences designed to support children’s current knowledge while building a platform for their continuous development. Our program consists of a series of unique daily routines and experiences that create a holistic environment for children and promote the cultural identity of the families within our centres and community.

Centre philosophy
Centre philosophy
We understand that children are unique individuals and our educational program caters to each child’s individual needs. We acknowledge the diverse traditional values held by families in our communities and within our centres therefore we understand the importance of creating a warm and inviting environment.
Guided by Early Years Learning Framework, both children and parents’ feedbacks, current events and children’s interests our educational program is a collaboration of many learning areas with the goal of providing opportunities for children to achieve all learning outcomes and relevant developmental milestones.
Our staff are qualified and continue to grow in their roles through professional development and mentorship programs offered by Scribbles and Giggles leadership team. Located in culturally rich and mature communities we understand the importance of staff continuity and creating an inviting environment to cater to our returning families and all the siblings in their learning journey.
Our team believes in building strong relationship with children and strive to provide them with consistent emotional support necessary in this skill development phase and to teach them the importance of positive interaction with others. We value our rich surrounding community, the knowledge shared by community members, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Elders; and strive to learn while educating the children of our community.
Our staff believe in collaborative learning and believe that learning outcomes are best achieved through partnership. We are committed to build a strong and genuine relationship with families which leads to better exploration of learning potentials in everyday events. Our Inclusion Support Department plays a large role in suggesting and implementing strategies to cater to children with additional needs, providing them with opportunities to learn from active engagement in every experience.
At Scribbles & Giggles we have a holistic approach to teaching and learning: We pay attention to children’s physical, personal, social, emotional and spiritual wellbeing while focusing on their cognitive skills. While focusing on delivering the required learning outcomes we understand that children learn in an interconnected manner therefore we have created sub programs about Indigenous and cultural perspectives, sustainability, leading a healthy lifestyle, connecting with nature and respecting the environment. These additional programs allow our educators to incorporate all aspects of learning into our daily program based on children’s interests and through our centre and community events.
At Scribbles and Giggles we consistently review our programs and implement new ideas based on past experiences and outcomes to establish a lively culture of professional inquiry and continually grow our team’s professional knowledge.
At Scribbles and Giggles our Philosophy, Vision and Mission is consistent across all locations but every family’s experience with us is one of a kind. We take initiatives to customize each centre’s service philosophy to the unique culture and needs of the surrounding community.

- Belonging: Creating a sense of connection and meaningful relationships within a group or family.

- Becoming: Encouraging growth and understanding through varied experiences and environments.
Our programs are designed to foster these elements, ensuring each child's holistic development and readiness for their educational journey.
Health and Nutrition
Health and Nutrition
We provide a healthy, wholesome and delicious menu that is appealing to children. Our menus have been developed with the support of the Munch and Move program in accordance with NSW health promotion officers and qualified nutritionists.
Our menu is designed based on the recommendations of the “Nutrition Checklist for Long Day Care Menu Planning” and offers children at least 50% of their recommended daily nutrients intake.
We offer a summer and winter menu with weekly rotation in a four weeks cycle to create variety and ensure optimal nutrition is achieved throughout all centres.
Our centre menus are Munch and Move approved, fresh and prepared daily by our qualified centre chefs.
Our chefs work closely with families and staff to develop a suitable menu for each centre and provide alternative menus to accommodate food allergies, cultural and religious preferences and vegetarian diets.

Batoul
The centre provides a good service, always prioritizing child safety. The staff are friendly. The environment is clean and engaging. My son loves coming to the centre.
Nibeela
The staff are lovely and supportive, always greeting families in a nice manner. My child enjoys being at the centre because of the educators. Drop offs were initially difficult with my child’s separation anxiety but the centre went above and beyond to implement strategies to help. This made mornings much easier as a working parent.
Safiatu
The staff are amazing and work hard to meet all children’s needs. They are always welcoming and know how to make children feel comfortable with coming to childcare. I always feel at ease dropping my children off as it has become their second home.
