Great experience here with my 2 year old. Staff are very attentive and Daniela the manager goes above and beyond to help parents and children and is very hands on. Also the first daycare we’ve been to where all the kids are actually well. Did not get sick, very strict infectious control policies.

St Mary Elc and the staff are amazing, since my song has attended care at the centre i feel that my son is more happy and learning educational programs. This is his second time in childcare and now we have been so happy with how Miss Daniella (Director) has been handling the service. She is always showing respect guidance to my son. He has learnt so much since he has been here. All the staff are very friendly and welcoming also. We cant thank St Mary ELC for all your hard help with my son's transition. Highly recommend this centre.

The staff have been so welcoming and professional with my baby twins. The facility is excellent quality with a modern, clean environment. The staff have been so kind and gentle with my baby twins and it shows because my twins are very happy and excited when they come to St Mary’s. I have every confidence in leaving my baby twins in the staff’s care knowing they are safe and well cared for. The daily reporting is very thorough and I look forward to seeing what my babies have done throughout their day. I highly recommend St Mary.

Centre philosophy
Centre philosophy
We aim to provide safe and nurturing environment.
Our Service will cater for different capacities and learning styles and invite children and families to contribute ideas, interests and questions (EYLF).
We believe families are also encouraged to be involved in their child’s learning, and have their input into centre policies and procedures.
We value and respect many cultures, religions from around the world. We respect and believe that all children should be treated equal.
To strive to include the community involvement in the centre, Community Resources are sought after and included in the centre as often as possible. We strive to be seen as a centre of excellence within our community, a centre which values community involvement in aspects of our program.
Our staff ensure their practices are in accordance to the Education and Care Services National Regulations, National Quality Standards, Code of Ethics, Early Childhood Code of Conduct and the centre’s policies and procedures.
Programs
Programs
Our programs incorporate developmental learning opportunities through play, such as dramatic, co-operative, constructive, and social play. [Learn More]
Learning Process
We believe that learning is a two-way process, valuing and respecting a child’s needs. Ongoing records are maintained through observations using our focus child format, planning for each child on a regular basis.
This learning environment is based on structured and flexible activities, allowing children to explore and play in both indoor and outdoor areas. This approach enables children to experience and enhance all areas of development by having fun, forming trusting and secure relationships, and promoting positive encouragement for their work.
Children are encouraged to be active learners in the educational process, thus achieving goals of learning and discovery.
Language Development
We strongly support the development of language through shared literature experiences. We emphasize providing opportunities to develop self-esteem and expression of feelings through personal development and group interaction.
Children are also encouraged to participate in role-playing, problem-solving, taking initiative, and interacting with their peers, staff, and environment.
ELLA Program
The children in our preschool room are learning about French. The French language offers children daily exposure to its words, sounds, unique characteristics, and the culture of the French people.
St. Mary provides enthusiastic staff who structure an environment that promotes play and learning activities enriched by a variety of resources, settings, and interesting experiences.
Parents are an integral part of a child’s life and are encouraged to play an active role in the planning process of their child’s education. We strongly believe that open communication between a child’s home and the Centre is crucial for their ongoing development. The staff will provide information about their development, individual needs, and progress upon request.
At St. Mary’s, we encourage behaviour that is acceptable and displays care, respect, and understanding of others' needs and feelings, particularly in challenging situations. [Find out more]
Guidance – Guiding Children’s Behaviour
Appropriate and respectful behaviour is modelled and encouraged at St. Mary Kindergarten. Children are encouraged to be independent yet respectful of others and their environment. At times, children need guidance with their behaviour.
When a child displays unacceptable behaviour, the staff will explain suitable behaviours towards other children and staff through positive reinforcement. Staff will guide them to explore other options that result in positive outcomes of self-esteem and relationships with others.
