About the curriculum
About the curriculum
6 weeks - 15 months
The children are cared for in a home-like environment by consistent educators. The program includes both individual and group experiences, with lots of music, singing, dancing, stories, outdoor play, art and more. The educators follow the individual routines of the babies.
15 months - 2 years
To help develop a sense of security, there is a lot of routine for this age group, including repetitive play as this is how they learn best. Toilet training is conducted, and there is a healthy balance between outdoor and indoor, quiet and active and individual and group activities. Regular meal and rest times support a child’s individual routine.
Pre-Kindy 2 - 3 years
Junior Kindy 2.6 - 3 years
Kindy 3- 4 years
Children's fine motor skills are developed through activities such as construction, blocks, drawing, painting and playdough. Educators encourage independence and building a child’s self-esteem by allowing them to manage their toileting, dressing and eating. Basic numeracy and literacy skills are introduced, as well as creativity, social and physical development. Emphasis is placed on developing confidence to try new skills, discover science, and learn about the wider community.
Pre-School 4 - 5 years
Schoolies 4 - 12 years
Children learn concepts that will help them do well at school, including literacy, numeracy, social skills, gross motor skills, reasoning and problem solving, technology use and use of lunchboxes. The centre offers before and after school care for school-aged children, as well as vacation care in the school holidays.
Meet the team

The educators are highly experienced, with 24 staff members having worked there for more than 10 years. Bilingual educators help children settle in by speaking their home language.
According to the centre manager:
‘Local schools tell us that they always know which children have been to this centre, because they stand out from other children in all positive educational attributes.’
Ongoing communication with families is of primary importance, and all staff are encouraged to regularly communicate with parents, and to give the parents maximum feedback.
Being a larger centre, there is ample availability for new parents, or for parents when they need to change days for their child.
I have been at Centenary for the past 5 years, it was evident to me very quickly that this is more than just a workplace - we are a family.
Eloise, Preschool Teacher
I have worked at Centenary for the last 23 years; I love working at Centenary as I believe we are the best in the area. Our workplace is fun, with our staff sharing ideas and supporting each other.
Donna, Lead Educator
The past 8 years of my career have been so very satisfying at Centenary Childcare & Early Education Centre. Working here compares to working with family. This is easily the best Centre that I have ever worked in.

Whilst the centre is absolutely huge and there are a lot of children in attendance, it is always so calm & welcoming. Educators are always ready to assist parents when they arrive, not sitting in bunches gossiping with one another, but actively engaged with the children. The information exchange about a child’s day is fantastic and it seems as though the team really knows the children in their care. The outdoor space is phenomenal, so inviting - it makes me want to play. And bonus for the outdoor water play space - woah!! I know my nephew is going to absolutely miss it here now that they are moving out of the area. As a Centre Director for a different organisation I have already had to warn his parents that they will not get the physical environment they have experienced from Centenary Childcare and touring other centres will feel quite disappointing for them. I would send my child here in a heartbeat. Thank you for your care and education for my little nephew as well as your guidance toward his parents as they navigated through their first year in childcare as first time parents. I know they will miss you all. Read more
