Woodlands Warragul Long Daycare and Kindergarten
Woodlands Warragul Long Daycare and Kindergarten Centre overview
Be part of the future of education.
We are profoundly passionate about children and their education. It's a force that's driven and inspired us from day one. So we've set out to make it better. To bring you more educational services than ever. To give you personal recommendations from people who know and love children's education. To deepen the connection between families and educators. To re-imagine learning. This is Woodlands. And it's just the beginning.
At Woodlands, our goal is to provide a seamless and positive enrolment experience for prospective families looking to join our Woodlands Community.
LOVE
Woodlands is a partnership between educators, children, and parents who are driven to deliver whole-child, personalized learning so that every child can reach their potential.
EDUCATION
We encourage the growth of independence and social awareness, sensory exploration, the development of physical skills and language development. Children play in a planned indoor and outdoor environment designed to provide a variety of materials to explore.
FUN
Our goal is to encourage each child’s natural curiosity and interest in learning. We feel it is important for children to actively participate in the learning process, and therefore provide many opportunities for learning by doing, for both indirect and direct acquisition of new knowledge and skills.

Programs
The centre focuses on holistic development and school readiness with exciting programs including literacy, numeracy, language classes, sustainability education, identity, physical development and camaraderie.
- Sports & yoga program: Children enjoy weekly sports and yoga, learning to balance, throw, and kick, right down to the precise motion and technique. The program incorporates reflective learning of colours, shapes, numbers and letters through exciting games and guided exercises.
- Music & movement: Music-time is a fun favourite, where children dance and play their own instruments, while building confidence, and learning social skills and coordination.
- Cooking program: This program is a time children enjoy making their own food, while learning more about new types of food, healthy eating, and taking responsibility.
- Sustainability and bush kinder: The outdoor natural area inspires learning about Australian native plants and gardening.
- French language program: The benefits of learning an additional language at a young age include enhanced reading and writing skills, cognitive development and problem-solving skills. Children learn through play, art and craft, music, songs and stories.
- Lunch box program: For children transitioning to primary school, this program allows them to practise a lunch routine similar to a primary school setting, with the support and encouragement of teachers and educators.
Meet the team
Meet the team
Woodlands ELC puts the child first in everything it does. This starts by hiring only passionate and skilled teachers and educators.
Known as “Woodlanders”, the talented team share the same determination and passion for education. The team helps every child succeed and reach their full potential by providing inspiring and exciting educational experiences, and opportunities to learn important life skills.
The team proudly supports children to become empowered, confident, creative and eager learners.
Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
The team actively partners with parents in every child’s education and development journey. They work to build a community where every family at Woodlands has the support they need to succeed and thrive.
The centre uses the Xplor Home App, allowing parents to easily stay in touch with the centre. The educators provide regular updates on the app and also notify parents about centre events.
Woodland’s also provides regular partnership meetings where parents can speak with the teachers and educators. These meetings provide an open forum to discuss education-related topics in an environment where opinions are respected and valued. The outcomes of these meetings also help to inform the program.
About the curriculum
About the curriculum
Woodlands provides a learning environment that supports children to thrive as they build a sense of being and becoming. Educators understand the importance of the development, and celebration of individual personalities to help create a sense of belonging where children have the confidence and resilience to play, learn and explore.
Nursery
6 weeks - 12 months
The Nursery classrooms are beautifully designed, safe, and inviting places where infants can thrive while being supported by experienced educators to reach developmental milestones, learn about their world and develop a sense of belonging.
From exploring different textures and sensory activities, to making music and singing, enjoying physical development through tummy time, to exploring the world of food and the outdoors, children are given every opportunity to thrive and enjoy their days.
1 year - 2 years
Woodlands 1 to 2-Year-Old Classrooms are thoughtfully designed spaces that motivate toddlers as they take on new challenges and develop their self-awareness, social skills, and communication. The classrooms provide opportunities for toddlers to use new skills and be active in safe surroundings.
Toddlers at this age have access to open ended resources to satisfy their growing curiosity. Fun activities including music and movement, early literacy and numeracy, crafts and gardening, and children have the explore and discover.
2 years - 3 years
Toddler classrooms are designed to foster a toddler’s natural desire to do things for themself, to explore, be active, imagine and create. The curriculum develops their self-awareness, self-regulation, communication, social skills and helps them make sense of the world around them.
Each day includes adventure. A day may involve playing instruments with ‘everyday’ tools, learning independence through making their own bed or cleaning up after themselves, to practising mud-cooking with their friends in the sandpit.
3 years - 5 years
Kindergarten classrooms are thoughtfully designed to be stimulating and challenging for children as they prepare for primary school. The experienced educators design and implement engaging, child-centred environments and experiences that embrace the individuality of each child by extending skills without limits.
The Kindergarten Program helps children transition to school with support for learning language and numeracy, crafts and painting, practical self-sufficiency and social skills.

Morning
Elsa is 12 months old and she loves playing in the sandpit. With the help of an educator she fills and empty buckets of sand, then adds a flower to each tower from the garden.
Lunch
Elsa has a nap after lunch, then picks a book from the low shelf with a funny lion on the cover. She loves tracing the pictures with her hand as an educator reads her the story.
Afternoon
It’s time for art this afternoon. Elsa picks the colour orange, then using a wide brush, makes a picture of the lion from today’s story.
Morning
Ben is two years old and he loves playing outside when he arrives each day. Today an educator is teaching Ben and his friends about gardening, and he is excited to see freshly grown carrots.
Lunchtime
Ben and his friends have a yoga class today. They stand in line, practising bending and stretching.
Afternoon
Ben’s group is learning about numbers. They each take some coloured blocks and practice putting them in piles of one, two, three and four.
Morning
Anna is 5 years old and loves the herb and vegetable gardens. The centre chef is making pasta today and Anna and her friends are picking fresh ingredients for their lunch.
Lunchtime
Anna is excited to be starting big school next year and feels all grown up. As part of the lunch box program, she has a packed lunch today with a sandwich and banana.
Afternoon
It’s time for music and movement. The children each pick an instrument and Anna chooses a drum. They practise making sounds with their instruments, before standing up and stamping their feet in time to the music.

A Dream Start for Our 4-Year-Old at Woodlands! We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Woodlands! Our 4-year-old recently started here, the transition has been so smooth and comforting. The Centre Managing Director was incredibly helpful with the enrolment process—Jess went above and beyond! The educators are exceptionally caring, patient, and attentive. They truly make an effort to get to know each child and help them feel welcome. Our little one already looks forward to going every day and talks non-stop about the fun activities with all of his friends. We’re thrilled to see the positive impact it’s having and feel so grateful for such a nurturing environment. Highly recommend Woodlands to anyone looking for a safe, engaging place for their child!
