Castlefield Kindergarten Centre overview
Catering to children aged 2 to 6 years, Castlefield Kindergarten takes a respectful approach, recognising the voice and needs of every child. The enriching and nurturing environment supports the whole child, allowing for play, learning and discovery across social, emotional, physical and cognitive aspects of development. The educators also foster strong relationships in the community, arranging regular incursions and excursions for the children.
The facilities at the centre support the learning approach. The bright indoor learning space features high ceilings and large windows that allow natural light to filter into the room. There is ample space for different types of learning activities and resources to facilitate engaging learning experiences.
Outdoors, the children can play in the sandpit or mud kitchen, ride their trikes or tend to the centre gardens. This is a space where the children have freedom to follow their interests while connecting with nature. They develop important physical and gross motor skills as well as social and emotional skills while playing alongside their peers.
Conveniently located a short walk from Bondi Rd bus stops, parents can also drive to the centre and park on the lovely residential street. Why not book a tour of this homelike and inclusive centre today?

Programs

Programs
The Castlefield Kindergarten program is grounded in the belief that every child’s cultural and linguistic diversity should be embraced and acknowledged. The play-based program helps to support this, allowing the children to embed their skills while discovering new concepts. The children learn about the differences between each family in a respectful and kind way.
An important element of the program is sustainability. The centre values the environment and the educators role model sustainable practices for the children. The holistic program helps to set the children up for a lifetime of learning, ensure they feel comfortable and supported in their own unique identity.
Meet the team

Meet the team
With relevant qualifications in early childhood, the educators at Castlefield Kindergarten are skilled and passionate about caring for children. The educators also engage in ongoing training and development to ensure they are across the most recent professional practices. This then allows for continuous improvement of the service, with the educators working collaboratively to share their knowledge and skills.
Parent communication and involvement

Parent communication and involvement
At Castlefield Kindergarten, the educators work with families to build strong and trusting relationships. A partnership approach allows the educators to gain a greater understanding of the children’s cultural background, interests, strengths, emerging areas and additional needs.
Open communication allows for a two-way conversation between educators and families. The educators send daily updates and journals and the centre sends a monthly newsletter. The centre also runs parent information sessions to engage families in the centre.

Our little man started when he was three and while it took him a while to warm up, he has come leaps and bounds emotionally, developmentally and socially and we are so grateful for how loved and cared for he is here ☺️ I was initially worried about not being able to provide his food but the in house chef is so enthusiastic and committed to creating delicious, healthy food for the kids (even catering to our pescatarian dietary requirements!) I personally love how CK is a big open space. We viewed centres that were set up in a home, with separate rooms etc and it always seems hard to know you’ve got your eyes on everyone. So much peace of mind with their set up, no one is getting lost hiding behind doors etc 😅 Truly couldn’t be happier with our choice and will continue to refer CK to our friends and family! Read more
Dear Alexi, Thank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear how much your little one has grown and flourished at CK. Our team takes great pride in creating a nurturing environment, and we’re so glad you appreciate the open space and our chef’s dedication to healthy, delicious meals. Your support and recommendations mean the world to us! 💛

Exceptional Childcare Experience – A True Second Home As parents of two young children, ages 2 and 4, we were initially nervous about the transition to childcare. Having been a stay-at-home mum and with one of our sons on the autism spectrum, we had a lot of concerns. However, from the moment we walked into this childcare centre, we knew it was different. The staff’s warm welcome and genuine care made all the difference. The centre was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to participate in numerous stay-and-play sessions in advance, which were pivotal in building our son's trust in the educators and helping him adjust to the new environment. Before this, we had a short experience at one of the larger centres in Bondi, and it honestly felt like night and day. At the other centre, the staff changed almost daily, and we never felt that sense of consistency or personal connection. Here, at this incredible centre, we’ve had the same permanent staff—Leo, Haruko, Meabh, Natalie, Sunny, the chef, and the wonderful Director Maria (apologies if I've missed anyone!). Each one of them is highly qualified, passionate about their role, and goes above and beyond to create a nurturing, caring environment that truly feels like a community second home for our children. One of the standout features of this centre is the sense of stability and trustworthiness that the staff instill in the children. The consistency in educators has been invaluable for us, especially when transitioning our kids into childcare. It’s clear that everyone at the centre takes tremendous pride in their work, and this translates to the high-quality care and attention they provide. Our kids are not just cared for—they are genuinely supported and loved in their growth and development. Another unique aspect of this centre is the incredible educational opportunities they offer. The older children are regularly taken on field trips, which is something we've never seen at any other childcare centre. This commitment to providing enriching, hands-on learning experiences is a huge plus for us. Additionally, our therapists, who visit the centre regularly, are continually impressed by how unique and beautiful the environment is. They’ve commented multiple times on how much structure and support is in place to help children thrive—and they’ve never seen anything like it. We toured every childcare centre in Bondi before making our decision, and this one was the clear winner—not only for us, but also for our children. After seeing all the options, this is the one they chose, which speaks volumes. We receive wonderful updates on our children's learning and development, and the progress they’ve made is beyond what we could have hoped for. The food is healthy, prepared on-site, and the children even get involved in the cooking, which is a fantastic and fun learning experience for them. In short, this childcare centre is an absolute gem. It’s not just a place where children are looked after—it’s a community where they are nurtured, inspired, and empowered to grow into their best selves. We couldn’t be happier with our choice and are so grateful for the incredible team who makes this centre a truly special place. Read more
