The Early Years Learning Framework is used as a key guide for children's explorations and understandings of the world through communication, discovery, imagination, and creation in the play-based program.
The EYLF vision is for all children to experience play based learning that is engaging and builds success for life. Children are provided stimulating learning environments based on their interests indoors and outdoors to engage them in meaningful play. They offer a range of exciting experiences and programs like - regular incursions based on children’s interest, vegetable gardens, compost and worm farms and a chicken coop to keep your child not only engaged and healthy but also learning new skills that can be applied during their time in school and in their further education.
With a wide variety of food items on our menu, our children enjoy healthy, nutritious, and nutritious hot meals that reflects the season we are in. We cater for all dietary requirements and have alternatives to ensure the meals are allergy friendly! For our little ones, we ensure to have options of puree, mash and solids depending on the stage of development they are in. Our nurturing educators allow children to experience friendship, enhance their social skills, and grow in knowledge about the world around them.
Our program invites family input and collaboration in our program which creates a sense of community at the centre.

Wonderful centre! I was nervous to send my 5-month-old to childcare, but they are so kind and caring with him. The staff have always been amazing. The communication is excellent, I always know what’s going on, and there’s always someone to answer my questions. I’m so happy to have found a centre I trust so much, and I’m looking forward to my boy attending all the way through to preschool!

This centre is so amazing. Can’t believe that my daughter on 2nd day says goodbye to me happily and ready to go. She was so happy when she came back from 1st day as well. Children are very sensitive, and they love going to places they are loved and fed well. I must say Rima and her educators are so good. It took my daughter 2 years to settle in her old day-care, but with Tralee Gardens, on day 2 she is all settled in. I have one word for this centre – WOW! So glad we found this centre.

This is an excellent early learning centre; it is family managed and provides utmost importance to needs of growing kids. They have various planned activities for kids throughout the day. Overall, it is managed very well with attentive staff giving high priority to hygiene and well-being of kids. Have sent kid for 2 years and would highly recommend it.

Our daughter has been attending Tralee Gardens and we couldn't be happier with the care and support that we have all received. My daughter attended Tralee gardens for 4 years starting from Babies to pre-school. From the very first day we knew that my daughter is in the best hands ever. On my daughter’s last day at day care, we all were so emotional (Us, teachers, and owner) as we have had that bonding among us as a big Tralee Family. Everything about this childcare is beyond incredible and I would recommend it to any parent. Thank you, Rima, and entire Tralee staff, for your attention, love, and care.

She has grown, learnt, and developed so much at the centre and I'm very appreciative. Thank you, Tralee Gardens, for creating a safe, fun, and positive learning environment for my daughter.

About the curriculum
About the curriculum
Tralee Gardens Preschool follows the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), which understands that children learn and explore through play. Their understanding of the world develops through communication, discovery, imagination, and creation. The EYLF aims to develop in your child a strong sense of identity, connection and contribution to their world, a strong sense of wellbeing, confidence and involvement in learning, and effective communication skills.
Preschool:
At Tralee Gardens Preschool your child will have a chance to practice their social skills, like sharing, taking turns, as well as understanding their emotions through the PALS (Play and Learn to Socialise) program.
The educators want to ensure your child has the confidence, independence and skills to succeed in future learning. The school readiness program includes literacy, numeracy and science, offered through the EYLF. Extracurricular programs such as, excursions to local primary schools and the provision of transition to school reports, support this important stage in a child’s education.
Children explore a range of activities based on their interests to further develop their competence and confidence in areas of motor development, social skills, independence skills, language skills and critical thinking skills.
Programs
Programs
School readiness program: prepares children for the transition to school by developing their competence and confidence in the areas of motor development, social skills, independence skills, language skills and the ability to challenge bias. The preschool works closely with the local schools to ensure the best program is provided for the children.
Cooking program: Using age-appropriate utensils and ingredients, the educators guide the children into becoming more independent, giving them opportunities to pour, stir, measure, and mix ingredients. Cooking gives children unique ways to practice their social skills, including sharing and taking turns.
Sustainability program: Taking care of the environment is an important responsibility to learn from a young age. Tralee Gardens Preschool’s mission is to ensure children have opportunities to learn the different ways to take care of the world around them. Activities include recycling and reusing items, feeding the centre’s chickens and taking care of the vegetable garden and worm farm.
Yoga & meditation: This program provides opportunities for children to practice their balancing, stretching, and listening skills. Educators use visual aids to assist with the movements, as well as guidance via modelling the movements. Meditation improves a child’s wellbeing and encourages the use of imagination in unique ways.
Sports program: With the extensive resources available in all rooms, educators encourage children to participate in sporting activities through challenging, age-appropriate obstacles. Children are exposed to different sports, like soccer, tennis, and basketball. Social skills are practised through taking turns and encouraging other children. Fundamental Movement Skills (FMS) differ every week and are used to practice important physical skills, like catching, throwing and jumping.
Multicultural dancing: As a multicultural community, Tralee Gardens Preschool loves to use different music from different cultures to use for dancing. Families are encouraged to suggest music that they enjoy listening to with their children at home, to be played at the centre.
Language program: Literacy and language development in Early Education is enhanced by experiences such as visual, linguistic, and cognitive strategies. The centre uses the ELLA (Early Learning Languages Australia) app, a multi-lingual good morning song, rhymes and counting in different languages as well as spontaneous conversations with bilingual educators, to encourage the learning of other languages.
