• Sustainability program: to teach each child the importance of caring for our planet, with a worm farm, rock pool, mud pit and chicken coop.

• School readiness program: taught by a degree qualified teacher and incorporating technology to prepare the children for the challenges of school.

• Intergenerational program: with a nearby aged care facility, building mutually beneficial relationships between generations.

• Regular excursions and incursions: these are designed to build on their community connections.

At Kids House Early Learning Southport, the educators believe that each child is on their own unique journey that shapes the person they are and who they will become. Just like chapters in a book, they understand that each child steps through their ‘story’ at their own pace and in their own time.

The team believes that learning is a lifelong journey and that early childhood education and care provides the foundation for learning for life. Children make sense of the world around them through the use of processes such as exploration, collaboration and problem solving across all aspects of the curriculum. They develop dispositions such as curiosity, persistence and creativity and use play to investigate, imagine and explore ideas, follow and extend their own interests.

The educators are key to supporting children on their journey and believe that relationships with families and community are essential for supporting children to be global citizens and helping them to reach their potential.

The centre is committed to health and wellbeing in early childhood. Providing a balance of good physical health, feelings of happiness, satisfaction and successful social functioning. It influences the way children interact in their environments. This centre believes a strong sense of well being provides children with confidence and optimism which maximise their learning potential.

My team of educators inspire me every day, always enthusiastic and passionate about the children in their care. Always creating an exciting environment for the children and watching them evolve in their learning. What makes this such an amazing service is the relationship I and my team of educators have with our families, creating a close community within our service, inspires me and excites me to come to work every day. My goal for the next 12 months would be to continue to provide the best service for our children.
