ABOUT US
At L’Atelier, our tailored curriculum is designed to meet the unique learning and development needs of children aged 2 to 5 years, providing them with a safe, caring, and creative environment. As an approved Preschool, we are committed to the provision of the Childcare Benefit, ensuring quality early education for all families.
OUR STORY
L’Atelier, derived from the French word meaning "studio" or "workshop," is a place where children can explore, create, dream, play, and build. Inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach from Italy, our environment places the studio at the heart of the children's experience. Here, children develop skills that allow them to explore and express their ideas and interests through various mediums.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
OUR PROGRAM
Our programs are crafted, implemented, and evaluated by a highly qualified early childhood teacher who embraces the Reggio Emilia approach. This method encourages multi-modal inquiries, integrating language, mathematics, science, information technology, and sustainable development. Supported by specialist teachers and skilled assistants, our offerings include music, dance, art, and Italian, all set within sensory-rich environments designed to stimulate curiosity and wonder.
We believe in the importance of both indoor and outdoor learning experiences. Our play-based learning approach encourages children to connect with the natural environment, fostering their senses, curiosity, and a desire to protect our world. The use of natural materials and neutral colors in our settings promotes calm and open-ended creativity.

Our son attended L’Atelier in 2018-2020 and had the most magical, beneficial time and made friends he still has today, and they all still talk about, and reminisce fondly, their time at L’Atelier. So when our daughter was approaching 2 years old, we were so excited to become part of the L’Atelier family again! The centre is like a home away from home. The staff are so loving, kind and supportive. We truly could not ask for a better place for our children to be cared for in such a dynamic, exciting time of their lives. Thank you so much, Helen and your beautiful team. We are all very lucky to be part of your L’Atelier family! Read more

I’ve worked in the early childhood sector for over 10 years, so choosing the right place for our daughter was important and it's not easy at the moment to find a decent one. Since we started at L’atelier, I’ve never had any doubts. The staff are familiar, experienced, knowledgeable, caring, and enthusiastic, and it truly shows. Every day when I pick my daughter up, she’s excited, saying "Mum, I had fun today", today was a lovely day or "Mum, can I go back to preschool now?" The environment is welcoming, with activities that cater to every child’s interests, and I love how she gets to choose something new each day. I love how the teachers aren't on ipads all day capturing photos, writing up long stories which happens elsewhere and takes up so much time, instead they give an end of the week detailed reflection. Their time goes into creativity and quality time with the children! Her development has come along so much, and it’s clear she’s learning and thriving. Highly recommend L’atelier! Read more

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
