Meet the team
Meet the team
Nido Early School is committed to quality care and learning delivered by an outstanding team of degree-qualified teachers and skilled educators. The team inspires and challenges each other, working together to collectively offer the very best in childcare.
The service hires only passionate and committed team members. It provides a comprehensive induction and onboarding program. All staff also have enhanced learning and development opportunities through the ECA Learning Hub, an online professional learning platform designed specifically for early childhood education and care professionals.
Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
Nido Early School understands that no one knows a child like their family. The service actively engages with parents and family members to ensure children have the very best care.
The team works with family members at enrolment and also regularly seeks updates on children’s schedules and current interests. This helps them to develop tailored programs that meet individual educational, physical, cultural and emotional needs.
Parents are welcome to chat with staff at drop off and pick up, and to contact the team at any stage via phone, email or the service’s ‘Playground’ App. The service regularly sends updates on children’s progress, and photos and videos of children during play and learning activities.
With an ‘open door policy’, parents are welcome to join in activities and events, and to share breakfast with children at the popular breaky bar.
About the curriculum
About the curriculum
The curriculum at Nido Early School is inspired by the Reggio Emilia Approach and aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Designed to support the children in the early years and as they prepare for the transition to school, the curriculum is play-based and engaging.
The curriculum is delivered in three stages:
Nursery (6 weeks to 18 months)
In the nursery, the children are nurtured as they develop early connections with their educators. They read stories, play and explore the world around them.
The children start to develop their sense of identity and understand that they are part of a broader community. They start to explore their feelings and emotions and also try new things. Developing early communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal is also a big focus for the children in this age group.
Toddlers (18 months to 3 years)
The educators encourage the toddlers to develop their independence and autonomy. They have opportunities to build their social skills and early friendships while also learning to regulate their emotions.
As the children take safe risks in their learning, the educators also encourage their problem solving skills. Self-expression and communication are also important.
Kindergarten (3 years to school)
The Kindergarten curriculum helps to prepare the children for the big transition to big school. The children have a strong sense of self and understand their role in the community. They participate in peer activities and understand their own emotions.
They are always questioning how things work and practising their verbal and listening skills as strong communicators.

I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with NIDO Belmont, where my son attended for approximately two years. Our experience was far from positive, and I feel compelled to share it to help other parents make informed decisions. I do NOT recommend NIDO Belmont AT ALL! The center is poorly run, and it became clear that many staff members did not care about the children. The few staff who did show genuine concern for my son eventually left the center, leaving us feeling even more isolated From day one, drop-offs were a nightmare. Every single day, my son would scream, cry, and claw to stay with me. It was an exhausting and draining experience, and I felt a complete lack of motivation and support from the staff. The support I received felt inadequate for my sons rough drop offs, Instead of understanding my child’s needs, I was given generic suggestions, like making a family book of pictures, despite the fact that my son already had one in the room. I was also asked to create a basket of cars, even though I had already initiated that on my own. When I raised a concern with the Executive Service Manager (ESM) about a specific incident, my complaint was ignored until I escalated it. This lack of responsiveness is unacceptable, and it made me feel like my child's well-being was not a priority. Additionally, there were numerous incidents where my son would come home with bruises and cuts. I often received inconsistent explanations about what had happened, or no explanation at all. When I inquired about these incidents, I was met with indifference from the ESM, who seemed more interested in gathering names than offering apologies or support. In stark contrast, after moving my son to a different NIDO, the change has been incredible! He absolutely LOVES it and can’t wait to go each day. The difference in service and care is remarkable. Not only is he thriving in this new environment, but as his mother, I also feel genuinely listened to and supported. If you are considering NIDO Belmont, I strongly advise looking elsewhere! To all parents who love their children, i don’t recommend nido early school . I thought it’s modern and amazing daycare but wasn’t like that , very very dirty and messy, my baby on that 2 month was always sick and got ears infection because they couldn’t control a 2 year old baby to don’t play with water, I several times mentioned to all educators that don’t let my baby play with water in this cold season but they didn’t care what i say , I also saw other kids got injured and I’m happy withdraw my baby before it happen to him too . my baby usually get back home starving and thirsty with headache because they don’t care about kids , they count them as a number not a baby. My baby was a gentle and happy boy before going to this daycare but in this 2 months that he was there changed to a angry and uneasy boy that had nightmare during the night and hard to deal during the day . I didn’t let my baby go to this daycare anymore but They forced us to pay 2 weeks (6 day) payment due to their policy . Read more
