Programs
Programs
Educators and teachers aim to ensure all children feel welcome, valued and excited about learning, with a range of innovative programs.
Education
In addition to drawing inspiration from the Reggio Emilia Approach, the service follows the Early Years Learning Framework and the National Quality Standards. Education programs focus on holistic development to equip children with the skills needed for school and beyond.
Wellbeing
Early experiences shape brain development and lay the foundations for positive mental health. Educators encourage children to express their feelings, and provide exciting wellbeing programs including yoga, mindfulness, art and self-regulation strategies.
Community
Educators actively encourage community engagement to help children develop a sense of belonging and to nurture feelings of empathy, responsibility and caring.
Activities include visits to the local post office and aged care service, fundraisers and incursions from community groups. The service also proudly embeds Indigenous culture into programs, and supports the understanding of diverse cultures, values and languages.
Sustainability
To help raise globally aware citizens, educators introduce children to sustainability and the environment. Children tend to vegetable gardens, plant trees and learn about recycling, composting and ways to reduce energy consumption.
Centre philosophy
Centre philosophy
The health and safety of every child is paramount. Educators work with parents to create a tailored plan. This ensures every team member knows exactly what every child is able to eat and has full details about dietary, allergenic, cultural and medical needs. These are available in every room in the service.
Meet the team
Meet the team
Nido Early School is committed to quality care and learning delivered by an outstanding team of degree-qualified teachers and skilled educators. The team inspires and challenges each other, working together to collectively offer the very best in childcare.
The service hires only passionate and committed team members. It provides a comprehensive induction and onboarding program. All staff also have enhanced learning and development opportunities through the ECA Learning Hub, an online professional learning platform designed specifically for early childhood education and care professionals.
Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
Nido Early School understands that no one knows a child like their family. The service actively engages with parents and family members to ensure children have the very best care.
The team works with family members at enrolment and also regularly seeks updates on children’s schedules and current interests. This helps them to develop tailored programs that meet individual educational, physical, cultural and emotional needs.
Parents are welcome to chat with staff at drop off and pick up, and to contact the team at any stage via phone, email or the service’s ‘Playground’ App. The service regularly sends updates on children's progress, and photos and videos of children during play and learning activities.
With an ‘open door policy’, parents are welcome to join in activities and events, and to share breakfast with children at the popular breaky bar.

At first we loved the centre, until when on three different occasions we found my daughter having her afternoon tea in a different table from the rest of the children, mind you my daughter was the only black child in the class. My husband and I approached the management, aired our grievances and the manager said the centre is highly against racism. We were promised that an investigation was going to be conducted and we will get the feedback, one year later I have not heard from them at all. To us this appeared like racism, when you segregate a one year old little girl for God's sake, what message are you passing? My daughter would also see some educators and cry her heart out, I was never comfortable taking her there and I opted to get her out of the centre. Read more

This review aims to shed light on a critical issue for parents considering this childcare centre and encourages management to prioritise improvements. Recently, my son fell ill and was hospitalised after contracting four viruses from the centre. Despite my concerns, the response I received was a generic reassurance that safety measures were in place. The severity of the situation became evident with the nature of the illnesses, including three gastro-related viruses and one that can only be contracted through fecal-oral transmission. This raises serious questions about the centre's hygiene practices, childcare standards, and cleaning protocols. The experience was incredibly frightening for us as parents. Our son was so unwell that he required fluids through a feeding tube and was non-responsive. It's imperative that the centre takes this seriously and implements strict guidelines and protocols for educators to prevent sick children from attending and promptly send them home if they fall ill while in their care. Further investigation revealed a concerning review from an administrative staff member, suggesting a potential bias review. This highlights the importance of needing genuine feedback from parents and the need for transparent practices from the centre. In conclusion, this review serves as a call to action for the centre to prioritise the health and safety of the children in their care. Parents should feel confident that their children are in a clean and safe environment, and any shortcomings in this regard must be addressed promptly and effectively. Read more
