Located across the road from beautiful national park, Magic Fronds TreeSchool has an organic bush kindy program and with a focus on child-led, Reggio Emilia practices, celebrates childhood, nature, wonder and discovery.
Underpinned by nature pedagogy, the indoor and outdoor learning spaces all highlight the beauty of the natural world. Outside, children delight in the meandering gardens, a sensory meditation pod/cubby, mud kitchen, log seating, sand pit, spider swing, yarning circle, giant art easel and undercover table for year round learning and play. A large deciduous tree provides natural shade as well as hands on seasonal learning.
The indoor dedicated Classroom and Resource Room are inviting spaces for children, with Montessori-inspired shelving that encourage independent learning and choices. With child sized furniture and comfortable areas to relax and enjoy activities, the rooms include a vast 1000+ library, roomy ball chair, retro lounge, dramatic play areas and many nature and Australian/Aboriginal wildlife, resources and art.
Embedding Indigenous culture is a program focus - from daily Acknowledgement, walking on country, awareness of Dharawal culture, art on display, bush tucker as part of the kitchen play, beautiful handcrafted resources to relevant use of books, symbols, music and themes in daily learning.
Animals and interacting safely with living creatures is a part of the program, with a resident miniature pony, chickens, friendly small dogs, ragdoll cats, stick insects and two non venomous, easygoing Australian pythons providing endless opportunities for positive learning outcomes.
Led by a Diploma-trained, mother of two educator with experience at Sydney Montessori School, community preschools and long daycare, MFT reflects a philosophy that supports nature play, sustainability, social justice, Indigenous culture, creativity and play-based learning.

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
