Goodstart Early Learning Child Care Centre Woree Toogood Road opened in June 2006 and is situated in a safe, residential area close to local schools, shops, and public transport. We have established a strong reputation within the community, with qualified and experienced educators dedicated to providing high-quality care. Our educators maintain continuity by moving up with their group of children each year, fostering strong bonds and a sense of security.
Each room is designed to deliver a stimulating, age-appropriate programme that encourages children to explore the five main developmental learning areas. Recognising that every child develops at their own pace, we tailor individual programmes to help each child achieve their personal goals.
Inside, from Nursery to Kindergarten/Preschool, all rooms are set up according to the Early Years Learning Framework, featuring sensory and play-based learning opportunities. Our vibrant and engaging environment supports children's growth and development.
We prioritise open communication with families through the Storypark platform, regular family nights, and newsletters, allowing us to tailor programmes to individual needs and celebrate cultural diversity.
Outside, our large play area includes swings, sandpits, a play fort, a bike path, a vegetable patch, and shaded spaces for exploration. Our centre actively nurtures community relationships, encouraging families to participate in special events.
We warmly invite you to visit our centre, meet our team, and experience our commitment to your child’s early learning journey.

Curriculum and programs
Curriculum and programs
The educators at Goodstart Early Learning follow an evidence-based curriculum that aligns with the Early Years Learning Framework. Informed by world-leading research, practices and techniques, the curriculum encourages the children’s natural curiosity and engages them in their learning journey.
As the children move through the different rooms in the centre, the curriculum evolves with them. The educators set goals for the children and celebrate as they reach their milestones. At every stage, the educators are tailoring the curriculum and goals to each child’s individual needs.
The curriculum involves different types of learning experiences and styles. From child-led learning to sessions guided by educators, the children participate in small and large group sessions as well as individual play. Most importantly, the children learn through play, developing social skills, confidence and independence in addition to more formal academic skills.
Play is the order of the day of Goodstart Early Learning and the programs at the centre are grounded in a play-based approach. The educators embed teaching and learning into play experiences, helping the children to make sense of the world around them. This is how the children learn about how things work and develop important foundational relationships and skills.
The primarily child-directed, play-based curriculum ensures that the children are engaged in their learning. They are encouraged to take the lead, developing their negotiation, risk taking, problem solving and social skills. The educators observe the children and help to challenge them by extending their learning and interests.
The educators recognise that every child is unique and that they bring their own needs, interests and strengths with them each day. The program is designed to be flexible to cater to these differing needs, ensuring every child has the opportunity to thrive at Goodstart.
Parent communication and involvement
Parent communication and involvement
Goodstart Early Learning uses the StoryPark app to connect with parents throughout the day. The educators upload photos and stories to the secure app, which parents can access anytime and anywhere to track their child’s progress.
The approach at the centre is very much based around partnership between families and educators. The educators work with the parents and carers to build strong relationships. They develop trust so the children can feel safe and secure while at the centre. Parents are also encouraged to share their insights and feedback with educators to add depth to the relationship.
The educators observe the children every day and tailor the program around their observations. They share these with parents, so they can feel connected to their child’s progress and also provide feedback that will further enhance their child’s learning experience.

Amanda Thompson
My name is Amanda Thompson, I am the Centre Director at Goodstart Early Learning Woree.
I have been working in the sector for over 15 years across a broad range of roles. I am currently studying for my Bachelor of early childhood and education. It is my privilege to be able to be a small part of a child’s journey whilst at the centre.
Your child’s wellbeing and opportunity for play and education in a safe, stimulating environment are my top priorities. I believe that all children need to be part of a positive village of people that always put their best interests first. I believe that all children have the right to play and the right to a voice, therefore I will always promote practices and curriculums that focus on children’s rights to play and give children the opportunities to voice opinions, thoughts, and perspectives on all things that matter to them.
Each child is unique, and I look forward to working alongside families and children to create wonderful memories. My passion as a director is that all the children in my service are treated just like they are my own.
I encourage my educators and the families in the service to strive to be as open and honest with me as possible so that I can make sure that the service runs smoothly, and all children are treated with respect and dignity. I am fortunate to work with a highly qualified and experienced team, whose passion for the industry and their roles therein is matched by a commitment to giving the children the highest-quality learning experiences.
Come in and see for yourself how we can help give your child gain the best start in life – and give you peace of mind! We would love the chance to show you around.
