Imaginations Pre-School & Early Learning Centre - Marsfield

Long term educators: the centre’s longest serving staff member has been working with the team for 21 years. The majority of the staff have been with the centre for more than 8 years.

Bilingual: the bilingual educators speak the children’s home languages, including Mandarin, Italian, Arabic and Korean. 

Home-like environment: the educators seek to offer a warm and welcoming environment with positive feelings of safety, love and attentive care. This helps to provide a smooth and positive transition for parents to leave their children in the care of the team.

Individualised curriculum: the educators understand that all children are unique, and provide the support, encouragement and positive learning outcome to suit each child.

Strong relationships: the educators build strong foundations with the parents and work closely together to meet the needs of the children and give feedback to parents.

Low turnover: the children get to know the long-term educators and can look forward to seeing the same faces each week. Turnover is low, with the current Centre Manager having been at the centre for 8 years.  

When I applied for the position at Imaginations Pre-School and came in for my interview, I fell in love with how family orientated the Pre-School is.

At Imaginations Pre-School Marsfield, the educators conduct regular food and cooking experiences with all age groups, to help teach them the valuable skills of cooking and healthy eating.

For the older children, being able to serve themselves lunch allows them to practice self-help techniques and builds their independence. They also help to clean their own dishes after each meal. The children wait for all their friends to be seated with their lunch prior to eating, teaching them social skills. The centre is affiliated with the NSW Department of Health’s Munch & Move, which seeks to teach the children about healthy eating and the importance of regular exercise.

The centre’s meals and snacks are delivered daily by a catering company called Kids Gourmet Food, and includes a variety of meals from different cultures. Some of the children’s favourite meals include chicken cheese and spinach pasta, Italian meatballs and potato bake.
