Starting with something good to say: lovely building and interior. Hard-working and friendly staff. Always short on staff, not much in providing education and learning program..kids are almost always outdoors to cover staff ratio under the roof , irrespective of the hot or cold weather. Seemed like a compromise on supervision. Racist environment towards Indians as any time I went for pick up or drop off, I was greeted with smile by staff (mostly indians) and teacher rida..others just ignored, no greet no eye contact. Once my husband came to pickup our son with me...the educator didn't even acknowledge our presence. We could have picked up anyone as she did not know us and didn't bother to confirm that the child belonged to us. Reception staff is more like a medical centre reception staff. A formal hi / good morning, how are you? , if we are lucky that day...otherwise cold environment. So, there is no effort whatsoever to build relationships with the families. They had to ask me my child's name everytime I went for any enquiry. Cheap meals : every time bread in different forms with occasional fruits. So my child was constipated the days he was there. After the change in the management, I don't know who the manager is now. As the manager sticks to her office. Everyone having a sitting position don't want to leave their chair. They love their chair, so no talking to the parents. Seem like they just pass the day and wait for the pay cheque. I never saw them visiting the rooms to see if everything is going smoothly or taking parent feedback. I feel they don't believe in improving, the environment is more like bank..They want your money, don't give a damn about the parent or the child and don't even need to because there is not much competition in the area ( not enough childcare in the area ) so the childcare is full. Management needs more training on everything. Just leave the chairs for atleast sometime during the day and talk to families..ask feedback from parents, educators, and children. Last time i checked :Inclusion of families and community is important. Support educators in providing holistic educational programs and don't be short staff covering their own breaks and just babysitting. There are additional needs children with no additional staff provided to look after them . hence everyone involved is suffering. My child didn't want to go to this childcare as he was scared for his safety and his teacher seemed always struggling to keep the children safe and managing the room. There is no effort in or working towards school readiness in kinder. Hopefully they will start improving after a few departmental visits. Please take it as a positive criticism, as this is the worst service I have ever seen. Read more
