Oxley College Pre-Kindergarten is for children who turn 4 by 30 April in their year of entry, who attend on a 3-day (Mon-Wed or Wed-Fri) or 5-day per week basis.
The Pre-K program eases the transition to Kindergarten with a play-based pedagogy. It fosters skill development, routines and curiosity in a gentle nurturing environment with consistent care and connection with a Bachelor-educated teacher, all to set our youngest students up for success in their school life and love of learning. We follow the Early Stage 1 outcomes that allow children to experience:
Our Pre-K learning space is purpose-built and allows us to draw upon the teaching expertise of our Oxley educators and facilities including park-like grounds, library, PE Centre and specialist spaces for Art, Music, and Language. We have a dedicated wellbeing focus, which includes visits from our wellbeing dog, Clover! Pre-K children also enjoy regular time with their buddies, who play, read and connect with our littlest learners. They also connect with Grandfriends via Harbison Aged Care.
Oxley is committed to providing our students with a seamless pathway on their learning journey and at the heart of our approach is a commitment to fostering the sense of wonder, curiosity and creativity of each child. Our bespoke Pre-K program is designed with the College vision at the fore, where care for the whole child, development of character and enlightened academic rigour inspires individuals to thrive in a vibrant, respective and inclusive learning community.

In January 2012 the National Quality Framework (NQF) came into effect across Australia.
The purpose of the NQF is to improve and standardise the quality of child care through a
range of measures including better staff to child ratios, higher staff qualifications
and an assessment and rating system designed to promote continuous improvement.
Under the NQF child care services are assessed and rated against the National Quality Standards (NQS).
The NQS measures the quality of early childhood education and care in Australia. It will cover
most long day care, family day care, preschool/kindergarten and outside school hours care services.
Under these standards child care services will be assessed and rated against the
seven quality areas, 18 standards and 58 elements that make up the NQS.
