We were very pleased to get a place offered for our grandson. He and his family were staying with us having left their... We were very pleased to get a place offered for our grandson. He and his family were staying with us having left their home and life in the Middle East behind. The short stay at Roly Poly of around ten weeks was not a happy one for our grandson. He felt unwelcomed, tells us he had ‘no friends’ and he ‘didn’t like it’ there. The only thing he remembers fondly was the French lessons which stopped because the teacher was on maternity leave. He is now enrolled in a preschool where his parent teacher feedback today is that he is a star student. Fully settled in after one semester with lots of friends, clever, engaged and creative. We realise he was unsettled when in Sydney but feel the pressure was in getting him to fit in and that more could have been done to help him settle in very sad that his experience was so negative.
