C&K Mooloolaba Childcare Centre overview
Welcome to C&K Mooloolaba
At C&K Mooloolaba Childcare Centre, we welcome children from 0 to 5 years old and provide care and early learning five days a week from 6:30am to 6:15pm.
C&K Mooloolaba Childcare Centre is a branch service of C&K. This early childhood education centre began with Maroochy Shire Council in 1982 and transitioned to C&K in 2007. Since 1982 this centre has played an important part in the lives of hundreds of children and their families in and around this local area.
Here at C&K Mooloolaba we have large natural play spaces including trees, scrubs, 2 large sandpits, decks, a vegetable garden with water tank, a bush tucker garden, swings and a fort. We value the importance of playing in and learning from natural environments and encourage the native wildlife with bird feeders and have 2 chickens, Henny Penny and Milly, as well as our own stingless native bees hive in the vegetable garden. Our centre is welcoming and friendly with a homely feel and comprises of three play rooms and we provide nappies for the children in our Nursery and Pre-Kindy age groups.
We believe learning is most meaningful when it occurs in the context of the child’s everyday life experiences at home and at the centre. Learning is fostered in an environment that is facilitated and supported by responsive, experienced educators. Our educators are dedicated to ongoing professional development and teamwork to maximize the potential for each child.
We are a high quality provider of early education and care and we are thrilled that you are considering us for your child’s care and education.

Infant and Toddler Approach
At C&K we are exploring new approaches for the educators that care for and educate our littlest people at C&K childcare centres. The Infant and Toddler approach, which we have developed, is all about being in the moment with your child. Our philosophy for this age group is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child to allow them the opportunity to learn and discover at their own pace. We are focused on spending one-on-one time with babies and toddlers and developing deep and trusting relationships with each individual child.
Child-Led Learning
No two days are the same at C&K Mooloolaba. Each day’s learning is driven by the interests and ideas of the children. The spacious and natural environments within our centre are thoughtfully planned and well resourced, with opportunities to meet the needs and interests of all children who attend. This is achieved through the provision of combined indoor and outdoor play opportunities throughout the day. Play offers children many opportunities to develop friendships, explore, solve problems, help others, imagine, create, and extend on their interests.
Community Spirit
Community spirit is important to us at C&K Mooloolaba. We foster strong ties to the local community and encourage parent involvement in the daily operations of the centre. We often hold and partake in community events and love connecting with local businesses and groups around us.

Our dedicated and qualified teachers and educators nurture healthy minds and bodies, celebrating each child’s individual strengths to support their participation and growth towards their full potential. We co-design vibrant learning communities with children, families, and communities, ensuring your C&K centre is a place where your child feels safe, makes friends, and belongs.
Our indoor and outdoor spaces ignite imaginations and foster curiosity, allowing children to explore, experiment, play, and learn. Educators are open to your child’s ideas and will guide their social and emotional growth. Your child will have opportunities to explore, solve problems, develop friendships, use their creativity, and play. We also prepare children for the transition to school and a lifelong love of learning.
All C&K community kindergartens and childcare centres deliver a government-approved kindergarten program.
Infant and Toddler Approach
C&K has developed a specialized infant and toddler approach, guiding the care and education of our youngest learners. Our warm and professional educators "slow down" to be in the moment with your child as they explore the world. We focus on developing deep, trusting relationships with each baby and toddler, ensuring they feel safe, happy, and secure through consistent routines and rituals.
Babies and toddlers are naturally curious about the world, and we delight in sharing their sense of wonder.
Play-Based Learning at C&K
Play-based learning at C&K reflects the children, educators, families, and communities at each centre. Our teachers and educators enrich and extend children’s play in meaningful ways. For example, if a child is playing in the sandpit, an educator might encourage them to draw maps in the sand or measure water levels, supporting literacy and numeracy development.
Programs at C&K centres may also include:
Nature Play: Time to play freely outdoors, connect with nature, and use natural materials.
Risky Play: Safe exploration of questions like "Can this branch take my weight?" under expert supervision.
STEM: Inquiry-based experiences incorporating Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics.
Literacy and Language: Talking, reading, conversing, drawing, and playing with open-ended materials.
The Arts: Exploring creativity through visual arts, drama, music, movement, and a variety of materials.
First Nations Peoples' Histories and Perspectives: Learning about and respecting the connections to land, sea, and sky in all our programs.
About the Curriculum
About the Curriculum
C&K has developed a Infant and Toddler Approach which informs the way we care for and educate our babies and toddlers. Our philosophy for this age is to “slow down” and be in the moment with your child as they learn and explore the world. We focus on developing a deep and trusting relationship with each child.
All C&K childcare centres deliver C&K's Quality Kindergarten Program. Kindergarten, also known as pre-prep or preschool, is a program for children who are turning 4 by June 30 in the year before they attend school. C&K’s kindy programs are government-approved and led by experienced and university qualified teachers. Our program supports children’s curiosity, creativity, problem solving, resilience and real-world knowledge and skills.
At C&K we know that children do not learn in isolation, learning is a collaborative process between teachers, educators, children and families. At C&K we believe children are powerful learners, active citizens, thinkers and theorisers - this is at the heart of our early childhood curriculum. We've designed our indoor and outdoor spaces to ignite imaginations and nurture healthy minds and bodies. Learning through play is an integral part of our education program.
Our educators skilfully enrich and extend on children's play experiences, creating a learning program that is tailored and meaningful for your child. Our Education Program
C&K's early childhood curriculum, Listening and Learning Together:
C&K Curriculum Approach, serves children from birth to five years old across all our kindergartens and childcare centres. This approach aligns with The Early Years Learning Framework for Australia (EYLF) and the Queensland Kindergarten Learning Guideline (QKLG), integrating contemporary practices and understandings of the early years.
Our educators skillfully partner with children and families to create caring and vibrant learning communities. In the year before school, university-qualified teachers guide and support children to become curious, capable, and collaborative learners. For children from birth to three, our infant and toddler approach focuses on slowing down and being present as they explore the world.
At C&K, we see children from birth as thinkers and theorisers, rich in ideas and knowledge, powerful learners, and active citizens. We work with an anti-bias curriculum to promote fairness, empowerment, and respect, modeling equity and inclusion. We honor every child’s right to play, build on their existing learning from home, and provide foundations for lifelong learning.
